The only problem I ever had with training my border collie, was training him not to herd humans.

It's hard to break dogs of what they're bred to do. He still tries to herd any animals he sees.

thats just the breed. they are cattle dogs by breed, used to roaming. you just have to get on there ass hard from when they are pups about listening. same issue we had with my pyrenees.

I think a lot of smart dogs try to ignore stuff you say, they try to act stupid, which in turn is actually them being clever, haha

those dogs are plotting how best to get up as soon as you get to the top of the stairs in an attempt to knock you back down.

Re: Dogs

Here's my old dogs, one was a black lab/golden retriever (I'd say one of the best dogs ever), the other was some sort of shepherd mix that we rescued when he was about 11, but he was by far the nicest dog in the world, not even joking.

No idea what type of breed he is, we got him from a pet rescue group, he's pretty huge though, pretty skinny at the back, but 110 pounds

Boxers are great dogs, first dog I ever had was a 1 y/o boxer I picked up at a rescue shelter.

Re: Dogs

Wiener dogs are cute, but they (at least the ones I know) bark at everything.

The great Pyrenees looks like a wolf hybrid a friend has. 95% timber wolf, 5% huskie, it's fucking huge and is around 6 months old, bright blue eyes and a natural instinct for hunting.

I'll try and find a picture, I know I have one of my dog playing with her somewhere on this damn computer.

I hope their backs hold up, Josh. Those dogs tend to develop those problems. My grandma had a dalmatian and just about every heath problem associated with dalmatians happened. Blindness, cancer, etc.

+1. Had one of these in my youth. They're sick nasty.

they just dont give a fuck about anything unless its trying to hurt you, or its an animal that doesnt belong in the yard and could hurt you.

my dog would leave rabbits alone, but he sure as shit killed a fox and a few cottonmouths. he wouldnt even let parents that had kids in our yard get there own kids without someone from my family saying that person was a good person. never went to a day of training, they are just a very intelligent and protective breed.

Re: Dogs

Pembroke corgi's are pretty smart dogs. I've never seen a working one, but apparently they're great ranch dogs too, lololol.

I've never gotten a chance to see a Rhodesian Ridgeback, but I just read up on them a little bit and now I want one :[[[[

Kinda curious as to who's a dog person, and what kind of dogs you guys have.

Here's my border collie, he just turned a year old. He's super smart, wish I had a better picture =\
