I have been playing some counter strike and pub'ing a bit with this new mouse, it feels really smooth and not awkward at all. I would recommend this mouse.

g400. It is the mx518. I had an easy transition when I bought this mouse shortly after you made this thread originally.

That thing looks ugly as shit. I just ordered a g400 the other day because I don't want to have to get used to something like that. I actually posted in this thread and then my mouse broke. FML.

jaz owned me

Damn....

But, then again, it has been 4 years, maybe she has figured out what the WASD keys do by now.

from a guy whos worked retail/food his whole life outside of construction, the work ethic of our generation on average is worse than our parents. they want to get paid to sit on there ass and talk on there phone, leave when they want, come in late every day(or just call off 10 minutes before they are supposed to be there) and then not do even have the job required when they are there. its fucking pathetic.
You're probably right. But I have a hard time believing that in 1965 the minimum wage worker at a pizza shop or a store gave a shit either. Maybe they were all smiley, didn't come in drunk/stoned, and showed up and did their job. But maybe they didn't.

I just saw this in action the other day. I had a 11 hour day slaving away at the coal mines, and I stop in to get a hot and ready pizza from Little Ceasars. The 2 staff in there are full of tattoos and the guy looked like he had not showered in this new year yet. They had everything packed away 45 minutes early....and my hot and "ready" wasn't ready for 15 minutes....I get home and it's not even finished. I would have rather waited a few more minutes to get something actually edible. That's the last time I will ever go there for food. They also gave a guy his food without him paying, and they only found out after he told them he hadn't paid yet.
just get another 518...ive had mine for 7 years
Same. I've been very happy with this.

Re: new mouse

Had the 518, it stopped responding to left clicking intermittently during a scrim with dgf and jaz owned me. Decided I would never let that happen again and been happy with G500.

Like I said earlier, I returned a R.A.T. 7 to best buy after wearing it out for a full return. The fore and aft thumb buttons were toast and the thumb adjustment outboard was tired to the point of stripped collapse. I returned it complete with all the spare parts, the tins, the tools, the piles of goodies and paraphernalia that come boxed with it. I know full well they put that pristine box right back on the shelf in the store for sale. They refuse to suffer the loss, however unconscionable it is to re-sell it.

BK was easy as shit. i got thrown into the drive through by myself on a friday my very first night working ever in fast food. it took me less than an hour to be as good as the guy i replaced. people who had been there for 6months+ did less work than i did, and knew less than i did about the job in under 2 days. the store manager tried to promote me within a week(fuck that, denied) i didnt even work that hard, i half assed my job 90% of the time. when i can half ass my job, and get fired 3 times and almost rehired a 4th time, that should tell you something about the current state of affairs in regards to the work ethic the kids coming out of HS have.

i would basically tell my managers to fuck themselves, and i got rehired. why? because no one else they tried to hire would work even remotely well. they wanted to take 50 breaks a shift, not clean, not stock, not accept the fact that sometimes you have to bag food or take out the trash. shits fucking pathetic man. maybe in the middle class range its not so bad, but down here at entry level poverty, its fucking sad.

Re: new mouse

by ThatsRight » Sat Mar 03, 2012 4:31 pm

pay and work ethic sometimes go hand in hand
Sometimes. But very rarely in today's shitty service economy and job market.

If you're a secreatary, you're going to get a secretary pay. It doesn't matter how fast you sort the mail or if you answer 2 extra e-mails. When I worked maintenance, I worked my ass off SIGNIFICANTLY harder than the rest of the staff when we had to paint, cut grass, or snow shovel...and they all made more than me and I never got a raise more than some slap in the face $.25......if I knew then what I know now, I would not have put one modicum of effort in for that company.

I haven't worked retail/service type jobs, but I'd wager if you work your ass off and there's some lazy pos who doesn't give a rats ass, you'll both be making the same. What's the motivation to seperate yourself from others in a deadend position other than personal pride?
and the work ethic in this country is starting to go down the shitter.
I don't buy the whole walking up icey hills both ways for a second.

Today, competition is fierce for good jobs. I literally had to spend 5 years in college and pass one of the hardest exams in the world.....by going into debt...to have a CHANCE to get one of the few safe career types jobs left. People who don't have the means or ability to do something like this can't just walk into a factory, get a good job, and live a normal life like the older generation could. Literally...all those people did was graduate high school and walk into a career. No effort required. Just like kids today who walk out and don't put effort in....but the difference is there's no golden career sitting on a silver platter protected by unions that made it impossible to get fired. Are they "lazier"? Not really, they just don't have the same opportunity.

"kids these days are lazy" is and will always be a load of bullshit. If someone is going to say kids are lazy, then they're going to have to acknowledge that kids have ALWAYS been lazy. The world has just changed. And the idea that the U.s has gone downhill because of this generation is absurd...considering we are all too young to have had anything but the smallest of impacts...we aren't even in positions of authority....that would be X, Y, and the worst of them all...the boomers.

Note, I'm not ranting at you per say. I've just heard this so many times from older folks and it's unbearable to listen to.

Re: new mouse

lets put it this way, when returns(there in the system based on the SKU as returned items) are handled by your register and group, your job is held accountable for the inventory and material you put back on the shelf's.

pay and work ethic sometimes go hand in hand, and the work ethic in this country is starting to go down the shitter.

This is generally a myth. The customer always thinks that they matter and are "sticking it" to a company like Best Buy. The reality is we all mean nothing individually and other companies are driving away people as well, so it's merely a wash.

You don't have to actually have good customer service. You just have to match your industry to stem loss of market share. Most competitors have an unspoken agreement if you will.

Look at Valve. Their customer service and support is nothing short of pathetic, yet they are considered the "best".

Best Buy is in trouble for the same reason blockbuster was in trouble. Brick and mortar stores have too much overhead to compete with online stores like newegg or amazon. Throw in a steep recession where people are trading down brands and putting off these type of purchases entirely and they have no where to go but down. Expecially given that the younger generation is the hardest hit...and most likely to buy computer products.

OKAY so this just happened. I walked into best buy and looked at their selection... so there i am staring at the fucking cyborg's 150 dollar price tag thinking what the hell lets just get it over with im just going to buy it anyways. I walk out to my car cant wait to feel this fucking ridiculous looking thing and I noticed the tape was already cut open i then pick at the box to pull the plastic shit out and what do i see? a fucking cheap Logitech mouse crammed in the box... evidently somebody pulled a fast one on best buy so i walk back inside and the lady calls me a thief in so many words before she got the floor manager when he shows up he said "how do we know that your friend wasn't in here to buy the first one"

logitech will no longer replace shit when you complain unless its under there warrenty now. i called awhile back and went through it with a rather nice fellow, who looked it up found evidence to support my claims that logitech always replaced bad peripherals regardless of age, and then was told by a supervisor that they changed that unofficial policy and no longer do it. he gave me 40% of anything at the logitech store.

also, i had a 518 till it died, got a g400 now. its a nice mouse, feels just like the 518 and responds pretty similar. its a little more responsive, so you will have to lower all your sens by a point or 2.

I use the steelseries kinzu , not my favorite mouse that ive ever used, its a solid mouse but, id highly advise you to look at the IME 3.0 and the 1.1 Optical , both Micrsoft mice deliver. If your looking for a new modern mouse, look into Zowie Gear's EC series both mice have a solid feel if you have larger hands and like the palm grip. The only difference between the zowie mice is the default DPI is 500 not the average 400. I pretty much bought the kinzu because i was looking for a more affordable mouse instead of the xai , its smaller and is just not what is natural for my hand size. I have never been a fan of gaming mice by logitech sorry guys, had the Logitech G5 laser mouse and just couldn't get a solid feel for it and have tried the mx518 which feels disgusting in dod to me personally. and i dont know if it really helps but i use a higher sensitivity with my kinzu than i did with my IME 3.0, i was never really sure if some mice were better tracking with a lower sensitivity than others.
