I like the scene at the dexworld pub. I started playing there after knowing Rendel from the league. He's chill as fuck. I play there daily and haven't seen many uptight admins.

Haha, there's a ban thread where they had to edit that specific word out about 15 times. He ended up permanently banned. Perhaps mine is temporary, we shall see!

It was Rendel, and I've played against him enough to see a change in his play style, and that first one loosely applies. He and I were poking back and forth at each other, in a friendly manner. Neither of us were pissed or anything. Map changed and we ended up on the same team that time, and since they had all-talk off, I said that to him on the next map. Rocket got super defensive and the whole argument of gay bashing ensued. After reading their forums, I'm lead to believe that Rendel is actually gay, hence Rockets fierce defense of him, ironic eh? All the while Rendel understood where I was coming from, laughing the whole time.

All in all, you're right, my intentions were not to obviously bash gay people, but just to joke around. What I do find hypocritical though, is their use of medical disabilities to degrade each other on their forums. It's like you've said, where do you draw the line? Clearly Rockets line was different than mine and Rendel's.

I was thinking of appealing my ban, but it would be a futile attempt on my part. I'm sure neither me, not Rocket, will back down from our viewpoints. Lesson learned, so I was simply sharing some wisdom, lol.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't gay also defined as happy, faggot is obviously derogatory, and [u]fagot[/u], pronounced the same, is defined as a bundle of sticks. I don't see how your use of queer in that instance applies to any of your quoted definitions unless you thought he was cheating or doing something "strange". It just sounds like you used queer to replace gay or "you're playing like a faggot". Your intent may not have been to bash gays, but it's generally used disparagingly and offensive to those who are gay.

That being said, words like lame are used for the physically handicapped, retarded used for the mentally handicapped, bitch/whore/cunt/slut used for women, etc. So, where's the line drawn when these words are so common in today's vocabulary?

Better to just not use them, I suppose. Problem solved.
