as far as I'm aware, what syroj is talking about is to make a new mod, on the same engine as cs:go
actually i wouldn't underestimate the demand for a new fast paced, team based FPS. seems like nobody has made a good FPS for about 5 years, and there's plenty of forum activity to that effect all over the web. as for a new dod, there was a thread on reddit a few weeks ago with thousands of comments of people saying they were fans of the original dod 1.3, when are they making a new one? it made me remember how big dod was at its prime. so if this mod came to light and it was done well, I think it would get played a lot.
the reason i'm equally sceptical is the HUGE amount of work a new mod would involve, and the size of the team they'd need to pull it off well. that said, dod was originally a community-built mod itself, so who knows
