I have no listed experience in anything.
Probably better of not using.

Eventually I probably have to use it. Which annoys me because I am appalled by their methods of spam/privacy etc.
But maybe I am a hypocrite because facebook spam by friends annoyed me just as much some years ago.

Countless random e-mails asking me to join. When you sign up they ask your email and password so they can find your adress book and spam more.

I don't get why a site like this is so popular.
At least for my area of work, resumes are not longer used. Before LinkedIn you could virtually write anything you want in your resume. You still can do the same on LinkedIn but I rather doubt someone will recommend you if you lie, unless it came by a friend of yours. Managers and colleagues can recommend (or not) your work and therefore prove that you actually have or had that listed experience. Give it a chance my friend :)

I use it and I'd say most of the people I work with and went to school with use it as well. I don't know about other professions, but at least in the engineering world it is quite popular.

It's definitely worth having. I connect with people I deal with here at work, mainly vendors from other IT companies.

Yeah, exactly. This social network along with TheLadders.com (more focused on financial people) are two of the bests around. I got good feedback and interview requests from recruiters that used LinkedIn to find me (recruiters can ran searchs based on your specialties, job profile, skills, etc...).

if you like good jobs it's worth having a good profile
Agreed especially if you've worked for multiple companies. I've gotten 3 job interviews in the last 4 months from this site just by people seeing my profile and who I know.

Does anybody here use this? I've had one for a while but not exactly sure if it's worth having or not.
