The m_rawinput 1 works for me.

From what I understand, at least for win7, unchecking enhanced precision gets rid of accel, but it was the hl.exe that would force accel in game which is why you needed the launch options. Dunno if that's how it still works, or if I understood the whole concept wrong from way back in the day when I first ran into accel on win7.

AFAIK m_rawinput 1 just forces the game to bypass any operating system influence on the mouse, e.g acceleration (ie. the game takes direct input from the mouse and its drivers). so there'd be no need to use "-noforcemaccel". Other launch options would require OP's workaround I guess, but I can't think of any that are neccessary

Never heard of that command, just figured out how to work this fps override shit a couple of weeks ago. I'll give it a try. Although, this fix did work for me.

People still use the old mouse launch options? I thought they were obsolete after they introduced the superior "m_rawinput 1" command

with the glitches that seem to be messing up people's mouse settings, are we required to use it tonight? seems like we should not be required to use it until you guys are able to release a product that can function normally.

TY Dan for this. It will definitely be looked into so we can implement something where everyone doesn't need to do this.

Also, thank you everyone for "going with the flow" on this and working with us. It is a work in progress but will only get better with the community's input!

I revised the fix because of an issue that caused the AC client to not read the .cfg files in your Half Life folder like it is suppose to. If anyone has already set up this fix please run through the newly revised fix before you play a match!

I THINK you can temporarily change the match name and the other info without having to un-check read-only, that particular file only comes into play when you want to save any of that info.

And example would be if you wanted to change your steam-id permanently in the client, in that case you would have to un-check box read-only on the steaminfo.txt file, change it in the client, then re-check box it, however if you were just setting a matches name then you could just set it in the client and that would be fine.

If you make it read only does it matter what you use for your actual match name? Because if you make it read only it's not going to change the info in the file when you load a new match right?

Fix for launch options not working with the client

by DanJhonson » Sat Jun 07, 2014 7:21 pm

OK so a few people have been having problems with their launch options in steam not being applied when using the anti-cheat client (I.E. mouse accel settings, nofbo, ect.). After much fiddling I figured out a (very, VERY obtuse) way to have it still use your launch options.

1: Go to your Steam library, find and right-click on Day of Defeat, click “Properties”, click on the “Local Files” tab, then click “Browse Local Files...”

2: Right-click in the folder that pops up, hover over “New”, then click “Shortcut”

3: In the window that pops up click the “Browse...” button, then navigate to your steam folder, click on “Steam.exe”, and then click “OK”

4: Next in the same window put both "-applaunch 30" and "-game"

5: Directly after where you put "-game" you will want to put the full path to your "hl.exe" file
(I.E. C:\Steam\steamapps\common\halflife\hl.exe)

The line of text that you have at this point in the text box should look something like this:
"C:\Steam\Steam.exe" -applaunch 30 -game C:\Steam\steamapps\common\halflife\hl.exe

6: After you are sure everything looks right click "Next", then call the shortcut "dod", and then click "Finish"

7: Next navigate to where you have the TPG Anti-Cheat Client stored and open the file "steaminfo.txt"

8: Find the line in that text file that says something along the lines of “C:\Steam\steamapps\common\Half Life\hl.exe”, and replace the “hl.exe” with “dod.lnk”

Your steaminfo.txt file should look something like this:

DanJhonson
STEAM_0:0:24075509
12man2
C:\Steam\steamapps\common\Half Life\dod.lnk

After making sure everything is right save and close the file

9: Right-Click on steaminfo.txt and click properties, then checkbox "Read-Only", and finally click "OK"

If you did all this right when you launch the anti-cheat client it should load up all your launch options with DOD like normal. If anyone has any questions about this feel free to ask me on steam and I'll try to help!
