what is the difference between "falou" and "fala"? what it seems like is falou is used when referring to oneself and fala is to another person. is this correct?
also, what is the difference between intende un pouku ji portugues and intende un pouku pourtugues?
falou is actually the past tense of the verb
falar (to talk).
falou can be freely translated to talked while
fala stands for the present tense.
entende um pouco de português means that you understand a bit of the portuguese (language). you need to use the preposition (
de). you can't say "i understand a bit portuguese". i'm definitely not the best guy to talk about grammar rules but i believe that the right sentence is "i understand a bit OF portuguese". that's why you need the preposition.
