I don't want to ruin it but here is the story. One pilot flew a 109 and was told to go shoot down a stray B-17. Once the pilot saw the condition of this B-17 he couldn't bring himself to shoot him down. Instead he escorted him as far as he could. Here is the story from both pilots together. One of the most amazing WW2 Air Combat stories I've ever seen.
