TPG - International League

Post by nhoj »

Is there anyone that want to play an International league? (Mixed?) teams from europe, US/Canada and Brazil/Argentina to play against each others.

On saturday it should be a good time to play it, you are free from school/work(well, maybe not from your girlfriends :D )
Saturday - 21:00/22:00 CET - 12:00/13:00 West - 15:00/16:00 East

Saturday's are problaby the best, monday-fridays doesn't work for many americans and on sundays we got tpg.eu playing that time. ( Both teams can agree to play another day).

I kinda want a similar idea from tpg.eu, that you have to use a number of NA/SA people, but maybe it should be like
1. 3 euros - 3 NA/SA players
2. 4 euros - 2 NA/SA players
3. 2 euros - 4 NA/SA players
(Teams decide)
But this will problaby be a problem for many. MANY french (and a few german) people can't talk english :P

Playing on both USA and european located servers should make more players be intrested, well maybe not the people that whine about playing on server that gives you 100+ ping..(Of the many players I have been playing, so is it only europeans that have said "No, I wont play on a US server")

This is one kind of scheduele I think is good(based on 10 teams in 1 division)
Spoiler: show
Week 1-5 : Server located in US
Week 6-10 : Server located in Europe
Playoffs : 2x Quarterfinals, 2x semi-finals, 2x, finals .. 1stmatch on a US server, 2nd match on a european server

I don't think anyone want to switch server for 2nd half?

Or maybe

Week 1-3-5-7-9-Quarter Finals - American server
Week 2-4-6-8-10-Semi Finals - European server
Final : 2 matches, 1st on a american server, the 2nd on a european server.

(I will use my team if this will happen)

Questions :

1. Do you want to play an international league?
2. Mixed teams (3eu+3NA/SA , 4eu+2NA/SA , 2eu+4NA/SA) or teams where the team captain pick players to play(6 NA/SA or euros , 1 euro + 5 NA/SA)
3. What kind of scheduele do you want for the Week 1-10 + playoffs(based on 10 teams in one division)

Start the discussion people.

I think most important right now is trying to keep the euro league alive. I wouldnt introduce another league at this moment.
However maybe it would be a good idea to organise a sort of NA vs EU exhibition match or maybe 1 time cup.

This would draw some attention. Maybe some lost euro's still need to find their way to this forum. And maybe some americans can get familiar with new players and vice versa.

I like the idea however , i think that a tournament that doesn't last more than 2-3 weeks is fun

I rather doubt that would happen. But I support the idea.

I doubt many team can attend cause of the time difference. But a night/day cup would be nice.

As others have said, a bi- or tri-weekly one day tournament would probably be the best way to get NA, SA, and euro players together.

can someone from europe tell me what team is considered the best team right now?

for example, the US players consider team 5.5 to be made up of the best players.

and to add to this thread, no comment.

if there is someone who organizes it well, it can be done, but if not... will be hard

if there is a tournament i definitely support the idea and will be looking forward for being in a mixed team

they did do a regions cup that you guys just missed out on. but not involving the whole community brings major flame wars and really doesnt create much interest after the first matches are done.

True story. Probably shouldn't have any sort of regions cup any time soon. You could really tell which teams were taking it way too seriously (the teams that had players that were always playing together anyways), while other teams were just showing up that night and trying to have a good time to play each other. The amount of times I heard "I didn't realize you were from Canada" during those matches was pretty hilarious haha.

Maybe a DoD Draft would be best?

I don't know how many teams we can get, but atleast 12 teams with both euros and NA/SA players can it be?

4 Groups with 3 teams in each. The 2 teams with most points advance to the "quarter-finals"

Group matches : Saturday xx/xx/xxxx (Day 1) - Donner/Solitude_b2/lennon2_b2
Quarter-finals : Sunday xx/xx/xxxx (Day 2) - Railroad2_b2
Semi-Finals : Saturday xx/xx/xxxx (Day 3) - Harrington
Finals : Sunday xx/xx/xxxx (Day 4) - Anzio

example : Day 1 : 9th december 2012 , Day 4 : 16th december 2012
