The NFC West might be bad. Difference is, San Francisco is winning games it should, but winning most it shouldn't.

Based on offensive and defensive efficiency ratings, San Francisco is the best team on both sides of the ball.

Smith never had the tutor or the competent offensive coordinator. Successful young NFL QBs have simple schemes to let them catch up to the speed.

Alex Smith isn't Johnny Unitas, Montana, or Marino.

Alex Smith isn't losing, and he is managing the offense behind an amazing defense.

this is what i am trying to say - Vick is the better QB, PERIOD. Alex Smith has a better offensive line to hide behind, and a better defense to bail his ass out. Vick on the other hand, has to make something out of nothing when he has 5 guys in his face every snap of the ball, and he still makes stuff happen. he's comparing an all around good team with a not so good QB, to team that should be playing alot better, but the defense has struggled since we lost Jim Johnson & an offensive line that has been pretty bad for the last few years. Alex Smith might not have the Recievers the Eagles have to work with, but when your offensive line gives you maybe 2 seconds to throw the ball, that doesn't matter.

next you'll be telling me Frank Gore is better then MCcoy.

Results of games mean nothing when comparing players. Adrian Peterson is on a losing team, i guess Brandon Jacobs is a better player then Adrian Peterson since he's on a team with a better record.

i never said the eagles weren't bad this season, i agreed that they were and threw out tons of problems they are having. the argument is, Alex Smith isn't as good as Moosh over here trys to make him out to be, up untill this season all of Sanfran were calling for his head.

Bengals Fan: They are the closest team to where I live. I also enjoy watching the eagles and panthers play because their QB's are so entertaining.

Michael Vick is absolutely a more talented athlete than Alex Smith

I think Alex Smith makes makes much better decisions with the ball than Michael Vick

The 49ers record is definitely better than the Eagles this season. Next season.. who knows?

Cam Newton is going to be a monster, if Carolina straightens out that defense and builds around him alittle bit, they are going to be a good team for a long long time.

Vick's decisions are sometimes bad, but 90% of the time it's because he is under lots of pressure. (again, our offensive line has been shit all year)

yes the 9ers record is better, nobody expected them to be 9-2? i think they are. or the Eagles to be sitting at 4-6 - that doesn't mean Alex Smith is a better QB, it just means the Eagles have alot more problems on the their team then the 9ers do.

My point is he's managing the offense to his best ability, and scoring enough to win games. Yes his defense is the best in the league, but he still has to score more than the other team to win games, which is all the matters. I don't care that he doesnt rush for 100yds a game and throw for 300+ (AND as a result possibly throw 1,2,3+ INTs). He gets the job done with what he's got, which is an offense that actually uses his skillset instead of expecting him to do otherwise like the last 5 years.

here's the difference, when facing a good defense, like the 9ers did lastnight Alex Smith isn't going to be able to do much, not going to be much scoring. this is the difference between Smith and a good QB. A good QB facing a good defense is still going to put up some points, might not be pretty but there is still going to be points. your defense might be #1 but if you are facing another really good top defense, your team is going to lose 90% of the time because Alex Smith isn't going to do anything.

you may be right about the OL not helping out vick very much. but with vick's habit to scramble way more than he needs to, you have to admit he brings it on himself sometimes...at first sign of pressure, runs out of the pocket, into more pressure, and throws a pick or fumbles the ball. but that just comes with his not-so-conservative playstyle which can produce those bad decisions or amazing plays. thats what makes him exciting to watch

Bengals fan here, and they have been quite the pleasant surprise this year. I had them at 4-12 this year and they have obviously outdone themselves. The Dalton to Green relationship will grow even more, and with 2 first round draft picks next year...they could be a playoff team as long as Mike Brown stays out of the draft.

The Eagles are certainly laughable. Just goes to show you can have tons of talent but lose games either through lack of teamwork, poor play and/or questionable coaching.

AFC North has been sending two teams to the playoffs quite often here in the last few years. I think it's only going to get even more competitive here soon; or at least I hope!

As a Buccaneers fan, I must say I'm not too disappointed this year. Still a young team with a much tougher schedule [in fact, just got through a historical stretch], playing against SF, NO twice, CHI, HOU, and GB. I am however disappointed with the coaching of Josh Freeman this year. They haven't let him run. With three receivers under the age of 25, you kind of need to let him every once in a while. Oh well, if we can win the next 6 we still have a chance but I'm very afraid of Dallas in TB and Carolina in CAR. Also, Michael Vick blows [[ fantasy numbers don't lie ]].
