I'm not linking the thread now out of belligerence to how ridiculous you're being. The picture I posted has the thread by title. This isn't hard.
You've made it hard. The picture also explains a lot. Get it, ya dig?
If the picture explained everything then you realize that just makes it appear as though you are equating defiance to a baby rapist all because he negged you 4 times? The "why" is kind of important. Context matters. Your picture doesn't give context to outsiders. You're part of the story, so of course it seems obvious. But for those of us who don't know what the shit is going on and aren't presumptuous people, it's not.
Then I suggest you read the thread and go get your context because I guess you're out of luck otherwise.

Could have just said, "defiance negged me because I condemned Joe Pa for his actions." In which case I would have said, "poor reason to neg considering Joe Pa's actions are reprehensible."
Friendly conversing, or at least civil conversing, is easier than you think, Mitch.

No, just wanted to hear from you what all of this was about because I like both of you guys. I disagree with him negging you for condemning Joe Paterno if that's what started all of this. Similarly I disagree with some of the things you've said because I would call them a bit excessive. Doesn't matter because at the end of the day neither of you are half as cool as I am, so no care.

Please. I don't even remember the people I defended, but I'm pretty sure most of them proved themselves on LAN, became at least mildly respected players, or at worst were never banned.
Except Kevin Gardner. That guy never made anything of himself.

You kids are taking this thread WAY too seriously. Honestly, this is the first time I've seen logic implemented in a thread specifically designed to flame someone for being a huge PBR chuggin' red neck that supports touching kiddies in their nether regions.
Take a step back, realize that there's no prize for "winning a flame thread" and talk some shit.
Fluxx is about the only one who got the gist of this thread, and based on the intelligence he's shown the community in the past years, I'd say it was a coincidence. I really hope the military pays for your higher-education... although, judging by your claims, you must have already been promoted to supreme allied commander by now, right? Pretty sure you can make a career out of it.

Yes they do. Going to college doesn't make you intelligent, as we can see from that pathetic reasoning you just trotted out. A 90 average means absolutely nothing out of context. It's highly dependent on your school or type of program, and even then, it's almost meaningless.
Any idiot can spit out largely useless information onto a test. There's a hell of a lot of people who "get good grades" but are not smart and won't succeed. They don't have any common sense, communication skill, or ability to think in any other way than memorizing. I'm sure someday you'll throw out a "I'm a 90 average" when you get passed up in every interview or promotion.
c.) You shouldn't jump to conclusions, It makes you look like an pompous jackass
No, thinking you're suddenly not an idiot because you got a 90 average in intro to Biology is pompous, you stupid fuck.

Grades dosen't represent knowledge, grades represent how much you know on a test. Not how much you do really know when the course/class is over.

lolinus wrote:Grades dosen't represent knowledge, grades represent how much you know on a test. Not how much you do really know when the course/class is over.
I got a "90 average" and put in about 1/4 of the time studying. I'd always hear people bitching that they spend 8 hours studying or "oh, I spent all weekend". MAYBE we both got "A's", but in the end, who's smarter? They can spend hours and hours memorizing something and spit it back. I can look at it once, and know it, and apply it. Which one do you think translates better to working on client who has billable hours?
Not to mention, a test with multiple choice has the answer right there. Could those people get all those same questions right if it was fill in the blank instead? I doubt it. Tests aren't effective, and one of the best professors I ever had did not give them. Ever. It was the hardest and most beneficial class that I ever took.
School is not about the facts or formulas you "learned". It teaches you how to learn what you'll need going forward, how to multitask, get along with people, meet deadlines/specifications, and not buckle under pressure. The process is what's important, not what "grade" you got.
Soft skills take you places. You can be smart, but good teams have people on it they want to be around. It's why the 3.9 "smart person" will be shocked after the 3.5 student with the clubs, internships, and people skills to get managers and clients to like them will be walking circles around them in the workforce.
In fact, the smartass who thinks he's smart because he gets a "90 average", like Bromley, is a liability. Even the best expert in there field knows the smallest fraction of what there's to know. Know-it-alls aren't liked, and they aren't good at what they do because they're unable to recognize their own faults for self improvement or defer to people who do actually know. They collapse in the face of adversity. He'll be spinning wheels wasting time when something doesn't fit into their little memorization game, because they don't actually have the intelligence to work through problems.

Bingo. This is why I always tell people the same thing when they ask me for college advice: email every professor in your department and ask if they have anything you can do for them - research, internship, aiding them in whatever projects they may be doing, etc.
I mean, I only have a bachelor's in psych/neuroscience and had multiple job offers in Chicago with moderate salaries for entry-level work based in research aid and basic counseling work. I guess depending on what you consider moderate for entry-level work.
