Man did things no one else could. Not even close. Also one of the nicest dudes ever.

I think rifles it's more fun to break it down to garand/k43 and kar.

Ward might have been the most ridiculous player ever to play with the k43.

Poor ninjuh, he told me he smoked weed so I rolled a blunt of dro up and he ended up sleeping in the bathtub the night before we played col on rr2 at cpl 05. LoL good times but in all seriousness he was amazing to watch on lan and a very nice guy indeed.

Heavies: Max, shiftypowers, ninjuh, profiction, plex, afropuff, lightoff and the best heavy by far my boy Spartan.

Sniper: Scorch, Marshall_D myself(pre 1.0) sov, shitgunbill, crus and motive.

Im sure I left off alot of good players, but this is just my personal opinion from playing against/with and lan experience.
The only one I don't like is Beas. Along with all the controversy, I always thought he was overrated to begin with.
all i can say is, if you dont think beas belongs on the list, you didn't play him from the winners bracket and lose twice, on lan.

Yeah bro, I stand corrected. I quit playing after fragmart 2k3, so yeah, I wasn't around for the other lans. I didn't even know Beas did that well on LAN. I was busy getting wrecked by kick off teams, Big Sky conference.

can0 may or may not have norecoiled, but he was pretty good at LAN.
ninjuh was amazing at every game.
that ivan guy destroyed some bad teams at wsvg. wsvg barely counts as a test of whether anyone had cheated online anyway. The level of play had dropped off considerably from the previous year.

So did tragik, but doesn't mean tragik or vasily played anywhere near as good onlan as they did online. Sorry, but xhair doesn't move in his video from online footage, and it's not HLTV demos.

He might have been good on both, but he was Jesus on iceskates online.

nope, he was just as good on lan.

and to scorch, he put up numbers against coL in scrims at WSVG and i don't think their talent level dropped off too much from the previous lan.

either way, i don't need to defend him. he was fun to watch. the end.

Haha I guess I'll never hear the end of the no-recoil cheating wall hacks rumours...

In hindsight, when comparing it to my 2-3 year online competitive career, I definitely didn't play my best at WSVG. But given the circumstances, I believe I did pretty well considering that I joined TAP 1 or 2 weeks prior to the event and it was my first LAN, and it showed in me placing 2nd in kph. But that won't satisfy some people, and they'll say that I scored most of my kills against sub-par teams. Yeah, maybe you're right, but what people didn't see is when I dropped 49 (or something close) on eximius (jaggon/baloo can testify) on harrington, or 90's on a couple other teams in scrims there.

But really, what does it matter. I have nothing against scrd or scorch even though they both aren't fully convinced I didn't cheat, and it hasn't/won't ever affect how I think I played on LAN. There's a ton of people who I talked to at the LAN who watched me and complimented me on my playstyle, many of whom I rate very highly of in this community.

In the end, it was a lot of fun and a great experience. The humour generated from people calling hacks, bullshit, etc etc was good times back in the day.

P.S. - didn't cheat, never will

I don't really care to make accusations. I probably did a decade ago when I thought I was the best and I couldn't possibly get outplayed, if I did sorry. The fact is that I will never know, nor do I care to know, whether you cheated at DoD. The only thing I ever really cared about was if someone cheated online to try and get a better CPL seed.

I just think it's funny how the "he didn't cheat because of X LAN where he did Y" plays out. Usually it starts with some -main level player watching the person play because they're out of the tournament and then telling their friends (or posting on the internet) that *insert accused cheater* never cheated because he was AMAZINg. The really good players that are actually skilled enough to tell the difference in that person's play don't always have the chance to play against *THE ACCUSED* or if they do, they don't really take notice of how that person does unless they play AMAZINGLY. Because everyone that didn't go to the LAN or didn't play against or watch *THE ACCUSED* doesn't really have an argument, everyone just accepts whatever is said by random player X.

For example, I never played against ninjuh at CPL 2005. I have heard he was amazing. That never was the factor that convinced me that he didn't cheat, but I have played other games with him and I know how awesome he is. That still doesn't mean he never cheated, just that he wouldn't have needed to in order to be amazing. Everyone accepted that he didn't cheat because of that performance, even if they didn't watch him play or play against him at CPL.

However, if you know eckman, you would never have suspected that he got banned for cheating and was labelled a cheater for a long time unless you happened to play DoD back then. Lucas is an amazing gamer and is pretty astoundingly good at every game I've played with him... on top of that he doesn't come off as the kind of person I would typically think of as a cheater. Doesn't mean he hasn't cheated in scrims/leagues.

If I'm remembering correctly, you went from nowhere to being in cal-o or -m with IAM and dominating cal-i teams in scrims in a short period. Speaking from experience, EVERYONE will think you cheat if you do that and they don't know who you are.

people thought i cheated for a while on dying-breed, and even strafe scripted.

other than winter cpl 04 i topped frag for every team i was on at every lan and almost every team for every season i played. at the second w2z i averaged 35 kills a half (i dropped a 18 in one half too), at ky with UKZ i outfraged everyone. ill never win a lan though :( or be mentioned in this thread :(

best players:
md
kn
the marko brothers (they put so much time into this game and still do)
bleargh
tox
habib (smartest maybe? idk but hes good)
scorch (another smarty)
eckman
hn
animal
pie
ninjuh
baloo
ackpth (rifle i kinda looked upto when i started playing in 04, i cant believe i said that)
THE BEST IN THE WORLD EVER.... NUKER?
a bunch of risk people, like patten was great even though i didnt like him that much
kirill!
frozenthruth (he used to teach the game into the wee hours of the night)
beas at one point
whose that nerd? hlah's brother? ghandi? i dont remember
bewton?
grant with ryan of coarse!
dorito and fusion even though i didnt like them
seven was great
wow theres just so many people who played this game that were great. all of hb gamewyze back in the day

iorio pretty much dominated every time he played. i don't think he really had trouble with any sniper in the game, not only that but he was able to pick up a weapon and continue capping flags. most of the players that i've seen being listed played from 3.1b to retail. iorio only played retail and wasn't on a championship team but would still drop 40's on championship teams.

just to reply to you will, me and connor consistently battled it out sniping whenever we played one another. i think if you asked him he would tell you the same thing. i always thought that him and mr. dan schey were the only two snipers that ever gave me problems. connor because he sniped the way i did, aggressively and almost carelessly at times, because we trusted our aim and reaction and our ability to hit no scopes at any short to medium range, which would lead to unpredictability and throw the opposing sniper off of what they may normally do to counter us. dan of course because he just is, imo, the best sniper that ever played the game and he was so methodical and on point at all times which made it difficult to ever kill him without already having the peek on him (this includes when he wasn't consistently playing the game as well. he was always one of those guys who could just show up at a lan and be back to himself within a couple matches even without playing online prior to it). im not going to get into this whole conversation about best over the years and what not, but i will say as a sniper those two were the two that stuck out to me as far as having trouble playing against them (not going to start listing off other snipers i played against and where they rank in the GREATEST EVAAAAAR list)

Haha, I did pretty well up until that last LAN. I think everyone on your team crapped all over us at that one in san diego. The aim would come back in a few matches but the reaction time definitely didn't. You could outplay me pretty convincingly by the time the LANs stopped happening. I seem to remember iorio being pretty quick, but I can't recall playing any specific games against his teams.
