As a matter of fact I'm proud to be brazilian and I plan to visit Chile and maybe Argentina once. It seems that you miss the point where I just don't like generalism because though south america countries you mentioned are in fact neighboor countries, we're all very different from each other, in cultural, social and language aspects.

About your assertive, which was I highlighted I find amusing the general banana joke because actually we ship a lot of them for USA and get good money from it. Thanks for paying us to sell you something that we can actually get it here for free!

When I was learning Spanish in high school here in the united states I was really confused on why I was learning stuff over in Spain and not in Mexico really cultural aspects, festivities, banana picking/traveling.

Oh and cass I bought some bananas the other day and well they happened to have fruit flies. The files then turned into this plague and got into everything opened and i had this delicious chocolate cake and I had to get rid of it now. I really enjoyed that cake too the one with the icing please if you could next time send some with no fruit flies.

First of all I do enforce that I live in Brazil because I love my country. Despite the social issues that still haunt us and prevent the country to have higher ranks in UN's development index list we are actually doing our job. Our financial system is stable and our economy is growing, with ongoing reforms in both political and fiscal segments.

Secondly, in my opinion, xenophobism is nothing but prejudice, and prejudices comes when you don't have your opinion formed because you don't know shit what you are talking. And people fear what they don't know. Not gonna lie but I feel really bad when I see that primitive bias towards not only on me but on the latin culture in general.



Last but not least, I don't have any problems with argentineans but as far as DoD teams concerns, argentineans have a reputation of not following rules properly and I just don't think it's fair to generalize this fact labeling them as if they were us all. Say what you want from now, since I feel that arguing with you makes me dumber.

I've taken quite a bit of Spanish in college. The language is the same if it is taught from the Spanish or Latin America point of view. There are different cultural oddities that make it different (i.e. the vosotros form used in Spain). I had a professor born in Spain and another from Puerto Rico. They both taught it the same way. We covered culture across Central/South America and Spain. It's a language class, not a class about Spain. Of course you're going to learn the culture for other Spanish-speaking countries. If you want to know about Spain, pick up a travelling guide. Or try http://www.google.com

I guess, if there is only one thing you take away from this post, make it this: Before you attempt to learn a second language, please go back and work on your English. It's abysmal.

Stealth, while the languages may be the same, many of the dialects make it near impossible for others to understand. A former co worker of mine from Spain could not understand Cubans for shit. ( i can't recall if it was that the spoke too quickly or what)

It's the same with my German and Dutch. I can have fluent conversations with most northern Germans, but when you get down into Bavaria, and Austria, I have to put a couple pints of beer in me before I can even attempt to understand what they're saying.

Same with the Frieslanders in Holland. (they literally subtitle what these fuckers are saying for the rest of the country)

Yes stealth it's a language class, but what james said totally different at times spoken to others from across the globe.
At one time you could offend someone by saying something. The term I think from Mexico "wey" gets some people offended from other places across the globe. Much like the word "spic" I'll be more proper next time.

As for the argentineans, brazilians not getting along what so ever I understand how cass feels about this.
Because certain groups from father south really dislike each other even though they're neighbors.
