Had a really hard deadlift session after not deadlifting for almost a month. Back felt loose and I was tired from work. I reset my max so I can get back into my groove.

Going to squat today. Trying to squat twice a week. I'm at a point where I'm wondering if I should solely concentrate on sport specific S&C instead of barbell lifts. Price is the main concern.

Unless your competing in a bodybuilding competition or powerlifting or just love to lift strictly weights.....you need to alter your routines and what workouts and types of workouts constantly. I go into the gym with a goal in my head snd thats to bust my ass snd improve so depending on my mindset and how i feel that week im very spontaneous during my routines and week to week has different routines but they all benefit me all aroubd this way and ive discovered it is a great thing to do for my body type and my genetics. Dont focus on maxing out. focus on improving everything evenly the best you can....strength endurance stamina cardio form and one quality i teach people to pay attention to starting their first week is. Be symetrical ! Check at the end of a week or two and focus on anythings thats lacking.

I understand what you're saying. I've read that when people reach a certain point of strength, it's beneficial for them to start concentrating on sport specific exercises. For grappling that means grip strength, neck strength, and hip explosiveness.

When I say I "reset my max" I meant that I lowered the percentage of the weight that I am lifting.

For example my 1RM is 300, but I only lift up to 90% of 300.

You're having trouble hitting a 225 HB squat? Do you usually low bar? I feel like you're joking.

I don't know why you would be joking. It is a little bit hard to believe that you'd be having trouble putting up 1xBW unless you're a novice lifter.

I'm not putting up huge numbers, but I am able to do 5x225 at 155 lb's. What is your program?

No, no no. You're doing it all wrong. What you need to do is take all the weight on your neck. Then you're going to jam your legs down and hyper-extend your ankles, and then shoot back up and lock your knees in place. Fucking rookie.

That was a quote from It's Always Sunny. It was funny because it is the worst advice possible, and half of it doesn't even make any physical sense. I posted it in response to your video because your video was attempting to point out your form in lifting, and it is funny to give absolutely, and obviously, terrible form advice to such a thing. Saying "Fucking rookie" is calling out the fact that I have no idea what I am talking about, yet call you the rookie. You should consider unpuckering your asshole, as I wasn't "talk[ing] shit." Jesus you're dumb ( <-- that is talking shit).

Most likely, yes. See, really, the key is to put it all in your groin and your back; take your legs totally out of the equation. Lift with your lower back in a jerking, twisting motion.

Trust me, I'm a professional.

I didn't really get it either. But I forgive you. As everyone knows, Europeans successfully removed funniness from their population long ago through ritualistic sacrifices and rigid inbreeding programs. So it's not really your fault.

Here's a nice, European approved joke for you: Knock, knock. Who's there? The police. I'm afraid there's been an accident. Your husband is in hospital.

You misstake Europeans from Scandinavians, We used to sacrifice christians with a little tiny bit of ritualistic lookalike actions (while we were not busy raping germans and russians). So we never had the need to inbreed, as we would simply go to random tribe across the ocean, kill all males, and pick their women and have a tiny bit of unconsented sex(nowadays, rape). Then we became Christians, and, well, we just continued to rape and pillage for a few 100's years.

I like how my nation is built on rape, pillage, and war.

Eh, I took a gamble. I actually have a significant amount of Scandinavian in my ancestry. I am fond of telling people that my ancestors raped and pillaged the world.

Let's just go with the humor got lost in translation, shall we?

if anyone is interested in the book "Becoming a Supple Leopard" I have a link to it right here.

https://docs.google.com/uc?id=0B-Q1L6KG ... t=download

I've only skimmed through the book, but there are sections that focus on posture with the intention of decreasing the risk of injury, lifting techniques, and foam rolling/lacrosse ball exercises.

I did get my squat up to 290x1. I attribute that to adding front squats to my routine.

stats? hard to put 290x1 into perspective without your height/body weight. i rep about that much 5x5 ATG but i am about 175-190 depending on time of year.

i think i remember seeing you deadlift and you were a smaller/shorter/leaner asian dude so that is probably a pretty good lift for your size. i also remember your form being pretty good so i take it you apply good form to squats, which also makes that a strong lift. too many ppl don't know how to do squats

i also forgot to mention that my 290 5x5 lift is when i am bulking. i drop to about 245-55 3-4x12 when i'm cutting due to higher reps and lack of calories. but i am planning to break the 3 plate barrier this upcoming winter on 5x5.

I'm 5'7. Hovering around 157-161 pounds.

I stopped doing it because I started lifting weights. I only started the 100 pushup challenge because I wasn't doing any strength workouts and I thought it would be fun/challenging.
