For the last two days I've been trying to connect to gamesurge and idle #1911. It lets me connect to the server but when i join the channel [ or scrimdod ] it shows that the channel is empty.

Wondering if i'm missing something here as i haven't been on irc in a long time..

it died again after about a month or so of getting back into it. Im guessing most did not figure out how to get around the mIRC 30 day limit thing and gave up instead of asking.

Defiance, my 30 day trial did just end. In the old days you could still just press continue, but when i do that now it just connects to a dead channels. I was in 1911 the other day and there was at least 30 people inside.

The 30 day thing doesn't stop you from continuing to use it. It just pops up an annoying message everytime you start it up after the 30 days. I just ended up buying it (you can find obvious ways around it though).

the newest version, it doesn't let you keep continue using it anymore.

It was fun to see everyone in IRC for a few weeks, but we have to be realistic about it. IRC is not really that useful for our community because it's so small and everyone knows everyone. It's an extra program that people have launch that they would get next to little use out of.

miRC uses 13 megs of RAM. If that's an issue, it's time to get off that eight-year old PC. Personally I like it just because you can read and leave messages even when you aren't on steam (which uses way way more resources even when not running a game).

I wasn't saying that computers can't handle an extra program, just that people are lazy.

people are also too lazy to add an mirc startup config so it loads when they fire up the pc

Scorch what games you playing lately? I know you were building a new computer for a reason. Steam name (or if you're gonna play BF3, origin name?)

Well I bought the comp so I would be able to play BF3/MW3/D3 and stream if I want to. I don't have internet now, so I won't be playing games for awhile. I don't remember what my steam name is, probably something stupid. Someone else on here might know.

Well if you remember what email you registered it with I can use that too....and BF3 will use Origin, so if you have registered with that yet I can add you.
