It's true, they're just jealous the aliens didn't come to their country to have a holiday over stuffing.

Are Native Americans cool with this holiday? I mean, I imagine it would be like celebrating your ancestors making peace with a bunch of white dudes before said white dudes kind of oppressed you to the Nth degree for a couple centuries.

Just curious! I don't know any Native Americans personally who are deeply attached to their culture.

Not trying to be ~that guy~, just wondering!

God no. Most native american cultures actually have fall harvest celebrations of their own, but the whole story and celebration of the american thanksgiving is a fucking travesty.

Just check further north up into the Green Bay, WI area... I grew up there and you'll meet plenty Native Americans who cried and then built casinos. They care

I kind of figured. I find it intriguing how, whenever conversations regarding cultural oppression in America comes up, you never hear much of the Native Americans. I don't think it's considered common knowledge just how poorly we treated them, I mean, horrible conditions on par with how we treated Africans.

Well unless you're sitting in a 2nd grade story time circle Thanksgiving is so disconnected from its historical roots nowadays that it's really just a day dedicated to "giving thanks" for what you have, not "giving thanks that we made peace with the NAs."

I just hate the holiday because the food is so shitty. Why, on a day dedicated to eating, you decide to eat the shittiest food that you wouldn't even consider eating on another day of the year? Blegghh.

Turkey is so weak. I'd rather just have a good steak.

Most native Americans that I have met have this crazy culture of shooting meth into their dicks, and blowing thousands and thousands of dollars on the stupidest of shit. A rich heritage, indeed.

Unfortunately I live near a rez/casino. It's actually really sad.

I just watched a "Gangland" episode on the Pine Ridge reservation. I'm sure most of the reservations are similar to this one, and its extremely terrible.

They annoy me and make insane amounts of money from those casinos. I won't lie, when I lived near them I went there and played insane amounts of blackjack. It's sad that most of the reservations near it aren't well kept and breeds horrible members to society. Sorry I'm not sorry.

something is definitely wrong with you or youve just been around some bad cooks. i would say if you came to my house you would think differently but i think you might take me up on that considering i live 20 mins from you. i can check with my grandma though

thank you for getting it.. I posted it and checked today and it turned into a serious thanksgiving discussion. Any group of people who can be at war with another set and then accept blankets from them the next day have whatever they get coming to 'em. Just sayin

I not-so-humbly submit that something is wrong with the person that thinks turkey is better than any of the following: beef, pork, chicken, fish, duck, lamb, goat, goose, buffalo, ostrich, alligator, rabbit, deer, quail, snake... what am I forgetting... anything else that is/was an edible living creature.

i definitely like lamb and beef/steak better than turkey. but thanksgiving is all about stuffing and gravy with turkey....any of those go better with gravy and stuffing than turkey? i think not.

Listen here you silly bastard, turkey isn't the only thing at Thanksgiving. Have you ever heard of pie? Because it's kind of a thing at Thanksgiving. And if you don't like pie, then I don't like your face.
