I saw some peeps on here playing Dota 2?

I installed steam for the first time in 3 1/2 years..Saw friends in the friends list playing it.

How do I get an invite? / send me an invite?

Basically this is how it works: everyone gets an invite but me.

To get an invite for Dota2 you had to sign up months ago to be part of the beta. However, there is still a survey to fill out at http://blog.dota2.com. As of right now the website is down, and to be honest I think it's pointless to do the survey. There is another way to get a Dota2 key though. Your friends that already got the key were given 2 extra keys to share, so hopefully they didn't give them away. Last option to obtaining a key would be to flat out buy one from someone, but that's not worth it. I had a friend buy a key for a hundred bucks, but as soon as Dota2 is released next year he's going to have to re-buy the game.

i got 3 extra keys, I want to give them to people who will actually play with me.

I've been wanting to play this for awhile. Never really played the dota series but if you would like to share, please do! Definitely down to learn it since so many people still play.

they just sent out a bunch of keys. I got 2 and just sent them to dyelife and maingoes.

They should be easy to come by now, since everyone who had that game last week all got sent 2 keys gifts.

If anyone that i am friends with gets one, hook a homie up. I'd like to give this shit a try.

I used to play with all of you guys in the DoDealers vent like 7 years ago lol. jdub, netherhell, shotgunbill and derek, sonik, roy, all those oldies.

Nah, I don't even remember what it was... Maybe =[Vp]= Black? I was like 14-15 at the time, derek and sonik just called me "the fetus" lol.

I know this isn't the best place to ask this, but I'm asking it, because I am a noob. Is there anyway to make the item hotkeys the same as HoN (alt-q, etc.)? Because I can't blink for shit in this game.

Yes. Go to the options menu. There might be keys already bound to those that you need to clear out, I can't remember.

e: Also, disable legacy hotkeys if they're not already. Those are bound randomly around the keyboard and were based on the skill name in dota.

I swear I tried that earlier and it didn't work, but then I just did it and it was fine. Like the game a lot better when I can actually use my items in a nonawkward fashion haha.

Does anyone have any extra beta keys? equis was looking to get in on defending some ancients.

I've been playing quite a bit with jbrown of the dod fame and his dota crew. The website is http://www.dotanoobs.com/main/ and its sort of like if 1911 had nice people who helped new players get into the game. Sign up for the boards and play in house games and get help. Dota is the hardest game I've ever picked up and if you dont like getting yelled at by super gosu chinese kids its a good place to start.

we should start some in house games now that more people are playing.

quickscope, myself, shiz, alopex, gayalitiy play regularly..And I just gave 2 keys away to dyelife and maingoes and they're starting to play as well.

Just got in to this thanks to nugz. I'm getting better but still struggle with classes(heroes wtvr) i haven't used. Besides Huskar(which im actually decent with) what is good for a noob to start out using. I've tried my luck with anti-mage but it seems he needs to be too high of a level to be a beast.

i really enjoy witch doc...the stun is hilarious on a big group of ppl....enigma + lich ult is gg as well... lich is an easy support hero but gets really boring as late game you are basically an ult machine.

i know..but i didn't play games very much at all for almost 2 years. and now im back to gaming as much or more than I did in 2005-2009. And I work from home so its very easy for me to get high and game instead of get high and work.

Also, I think I'm getting carpel tunnel. After 3-4 12mans my arms and wrists ache and tingle. Im paranoid now.
