And how did sherman end up in there? People always say they want that map, but whenever that week comes around everybody complains about it.

Eric you are dating yourself in DoD years. I feel like I have put on some weight after the holidays so I suggest we put in Zafod to get some cardio in between the action.

Yeah koln was my favourite 3.1 map, even if I did get really mad when some kid from DSSGC or some really long name like that killed me while proned in the fountain filled with bodies. Someone should remake that.

My favorite part of koln was setting up an mg42 outside of allies spawn (on the right side) and blasting people as they came around the corner. SOUNDS LIKE A FUN MATCH MAP FOR E'MAN AND ECKMAN.

I was very supportive of emmanuel (lindbergh is way too big) but lerf messed up with the map very much. imo the best emmanuel version so far was the emmanuel used in season 25 preseason (b2). damn you lerf!

My only problem with emmanuel is the long/mid house/sniper loft all being connected. It makes it really tough for the axis mid/long team and couple that with the proximity of the allied spawn and it becomes even more apparent. Other than that though I found that map extremely enjoyable. I just wish Hisey would hurry his map along, time to play test that damn thing Steve. :O

But yeah, exactly. B2 version had a door connector between mid and long (which was excellent because this mid connector house wasn't linked with allies spawn, which allowed both sides compete for reaching that spot) and mid didn't have that balcony connected to the allies long house. I believe that mountain was changed to better but I strongly agree with Yaso that the changes made in long/mid made the axis life pretty much impossible with all that gay boxes and hiding places.

Lindbergh definitely had potential, but I believe Hisey has stopped working on that to do a new map, unless I'm completely wrong and the new map he's working on is another version of it.

I think you misspelled "dod_switch". I don't see it anywhere on there.

Seriously there were a couple pretty workable, decently playable versions of emmanuel in the past. Even the one we played in preseason was decent. I think 'decent' is good enough at this point, where any map that isn't terrible is a good candidate for play, since I think everyone agrees that tpg dod could use some refreshing changes.

Lerf just HAS to stop fucking with the map constantly. Get a playable version down and just leave it. No map is perfect and emmanuel may be far from perfect, but much worse maps are staples of dod leagues (donner, solitude).

emmanuel had a cow in it...that was pretty cool.

Railroad is better than half of those maps, and it plays different from rr2. Avalanche is fun too. Emmanuel_b3 is a good map, but could be great, if long gets fixed.

You missed: IT'S TOO DARK. APARTMENTS ARE TOO DARK. DARK HALL IS TOO DARK. I CAN'T SEE ANYTHING WHY AREN'T WE JUST PLAYING RAILROAD 2?

I saved a spot in regular season for emmanual. Then after preseason when I was making the final map rotation for regular season. I was told that lerf is changing emmanual again. So I decided not to put it reg season until he is finished. I have no problem putting it in preseason, but for reg season I want it to be a stable map. As for rr well atleast its played in preseason. As for sherman, I had more players wanting that then some version of saints or merderet. That is the week emmanual would have been put in.

Everybody wants sherman until the week it's to be played. Then all you hear in vent is, "This map is awful. Why are we playing this map?" Same thing applies to avalanche, merderet, etc.

i played it once in CAL, gwolf. It was strange.

I don't cry about sherman. I think it plays great!
