That's pretty interesting.
I loved Mars volta until I saw them live. They just really dont care about having a good show, and I wouldn't be surprised if they were all on drugs, in the bad way.
I hope this doesn't happen because I enjoy both bands music. Since its like a reunion thing, I can see it being awesome. However Cedric is one of those people who will go through a huge ordeal just to deliver some kind of message on how much everyone's a tool.

Oh, kilentequila posting. That man is a homosexual gentleman. He made this thread worth posting in despite all the bad music being discussed.

Hey, I listen to Mars Volta. Saw them live when I was a freshman in college! Just don't like At the Drive In.

I actually agree with the hipster fgt on this one. Really like mars volta, and they could kill it live, but I can nly stand a bit of atdi (no offense vince, if youre out there...).

I'll be camping there the 2nd weekend.
4th year for me - WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Edit: Saw The Mars Volta open up for System of a Down a few years ago in Long Beach (I think). I never really liked any of their stuff on radio or CD - but their live show gave me a whole lot more respect for them. They fucking jammed out so hard and really made the crowd into it. Lots of different sounds - really cool shit. Enjoyed their live show a lot; can't wait to see what ATDI has in store at fucking Coachella.

I heard so many people say they didn't like Mars Volta live. Not sure what show they saw, but when I saw them they were fantastic. Really put on a great show.

When I saw Mars Volta live it was pretty much like that awful Red Hot Chili Peppers live incident that floats around on the internet. It was beyond awful.

See that's what most people have said. I don't know why it was so bad for them, though. They were very interactive with the crowd, very energetic, etc. Maybe it was just a luck of the draw sort of thing.

It's worth mentioning that I was tripping on peyote when I saw them live, so that could have improved the experience for me I suppose...

I think it was tucked inside of one of those VH1 "top 50" segments, and it was in the top 10. Basically, Kiedis was too drunk to sing Californication and the crowd is booing in like San Jose. I can't seem to find it, but apparently it was so bad they only got through like 2 songs in the set before it just had to be canceled.

Best one from that site:
"Madonna: bi-sexual whore, sexual degenerate, promotes fornication, rebellion, and Satan worship. In the song, "Beautiful Stranger," she mentions the 'Devil,' calls him beautiful, and says "To know you is to love you.""
