DoD Archives (Help Wanted)

http://archives.nineteeneleven.org/
This project is almost ready to get started.
What we need now are people who are willing to upload a bunch of shit; be it movies, demos, ss's, whatever.
We want this to be a storage place for every piece of DoD media ever (seriously).
We want every demo from gotfrag (already started on this), every movie from dodmovies (plus what Voldermort is missing), every screen shot, every shoutcast, every clan website, every LAN photo gallery... EVERYTHING. All you have to do is FTP the files, the index takes care of the rest.
This is an ambitious project that will take a lot of time and a group effort, but after considering all the options, I think I'm just going to open it up to the community to volunteer to upload files and organize them correctly. So, hit me up if you'de like to help out.
The current header is there just so you have a big button to take you back to the index. I'm in the process of whipping together some retro-themed headers for the archive page.
In the future, we will be adding the ability for anyone to upload files directly from the archive page, but right now we are keeping it closed while we are building the archive.
Those that help out will also get first dibs at 1911 sub-domains ala
sears.nineteeneleven.org.

Can you make it somewhat more organized when people download/upload, idk,but like to put the names in this thread of what they are uploading so it isent 15 copies of the same demo/movie.

I guess I don't know what you mean. Everyone who is involved with building/organizing the archive will be communicating with each other, this thread is just me trying to recruit more people to actually help.
Once we have a solid archive of data, and we've got it organized the way we want it, we will release it on the front-page.
It's also worth mentioning that this is a long-term project. There is no rush, and it will only get better/more functional with time.
This is meant so that 1911 has an archive of all dod media long after our final season playing (which doesn't seem to be happening anytime soon).

You could leave the uploading public, but require moderator approval before it actually gets listed.

There is no backend programming behind this (at the moment).
It's just an FTP with a styled apache index.
In the future we may build a more robust file management system, but right now with the state of the community, I'm more focused on getting all of the data from the last ten years into one safe place as simply as possible.
We aren't creating a whole lot of new media, so there isn't much incentive to build a huge system beyond our current capabilities on 1911.

Does anybody have old schedules and results for CAL/TPG? I'm trying to figure out what season and league some of those later matches are from, but am failing horribly.

I got TONS of old dod movies on a hard drive that I don't currently have on hand right now. Plus the power cable for the hd is not working too. If I get it up and running again I can definitely contribute lots of movies.

You don't fit the requirements to be friends with Khoi's ladies. Asian and under 5'3". Obviously, the latter is the most important.

But but but but ... she was a super cute brunette that was way taller than him and super white, and I'm a hulking adonis...
So, wtf!? Did he do vector calculus for her or something?

Khoi has always used math to get what he wants. That's how he got to his first lan, that's how he got into that girl's pants. It just works.

I got you, Khoi!
It doesn't let me attach a .bmp file or even a zipped file. I figured you wouldn't want the whole zipped file of Harrington, so I just uploaded the overview.

I came across this shout cast I had from one of the late seasons in CAL. If people have any others you could had a section for this in the archives. I heard there was one for the thunder vs akk that could be added as well

I can never get my harrington overview to work ;(
Mino, what's the text in your overview?
When I join a server on Harrington It always says in console "Couldn't open file overviews/dod_harrington.txt. Using default values for overiew mode." even though I have a dod_harrington.txt
This is the text in my dod_harrington.txt:
global
{
ZOOM 1.47
ORIGIN 1.09 -675.50 -40.00
ROTATED 0
}
layer
{
IMAGE "overviews/dod_harrington.bmp"
HEIGHT -369
}

Oh, sorry for the late response. I have something different in my dod_harrington.txt file. Also, I included a wrong .bmp file in my previous post. This one, along with the text file are directly from my dod folder. The one I posted before was from a dod_harrington folder I have, I thought they would be the same.

will it last? I remember uploading my collection couple of times in the past.
Couple years back I deleted my dodmovies folder. But there should still be plenty of old ones from the ancient time when we still made dvd and cd backups. If they still work that is (last time I checked some cd's didn't open, just crashed)
I would like ftp info if fAn is done uploading. He probably uploaded most of the movies I have. But I'm sure I got a couple no one has anymore.
just watched IAM1.5 again. Pure genius
