DoD TV, Broadcasting HLTV demos

So, I've been messing around with HLTV lately and I was actually able to develop a rather simple method that allows an HLTV server to broadcast a playlist of HLTV demos. With demo playback on HLTV you can view the match just as you could in a regular HLTV server.
I thought something like this might be useful to replay the TPG matches throughout the week. So if you wanted to watch a match and you missed it on the day it was played you can watch it later on the HLTV server. Ideally, all matches would get played on sunday and I would have them broadcasting either that night or the next day.
I don't know if this really contributes anything to this community but I thought it was neat and I wanted to throw it out there. So if you guys are interested, send me your HLTV demos (not POV) and I can easily get them in the playlist and get them broadcasting. As long as they are less than 22 minutes per half it should work flawlessly. If they're longer, it will get cut short
The easiest way to submit your HLTV demos is to throw them on something like mediafire and send me a PM containing the link.
Let me know what you guys think!

I actually enjoy watching other teams play so this sounds pretty cool to me. I was just thinking about trying to get a sticky listing all the HLTV servers that are available so that it would be easier to get the info to one. I would like to watch more matches but it seems not everyone likes to post when their match or what the HLTV info is every time.

I enjoy watching other teams play as well. This server will loop through a playlist of matches so you will be able to watch matches pretty much 24/7. The more demos that get sent in the better.

To be honest, this really doesn't make a whole lot of sense. I think people are pretty accustom to being able to download the specific demos that they want, when they want them, and watch however much they want to.
So, to me it would make more sense for people to start sharing their demos in the Demos section of the forums as opposed to this dedicated demo hltv idea. I honestly just don't think it would get used at all.
Apprentice the interest though, and encourage you to watch as many demos from matches as you can, it can really help you improve as a player.

i like the idea couse it would be a easy way too display every player of the match not just the ones putting the work in to upload their demos and share it in some public space.
The other point is like sears told the question of if it's going to be used by user, to check that we probably need some "hero" who would be willing to start and try this.

It is already implemented and 100% functional. As I type this it's playing some random MVPz vs 1080p scrim from a huge playlist of test demos.
I guess the whole premise behind me thinking this would be useful was the fact that the most current HLTV demos aren't posted anywhere. However, I agree with Sears. If people are going to take the time to send the demos to me they might as well post them publicly in the forums.

Really neat idea.
This would be cool if the 1911 stream could have these HLTV matches replaying if anyone wasn't streaming at the time.

The twitch.tv stream requires someone (with a powerful computer) to be there controlling the stream.
It isn't magic. It's a tool that allows you to control a live streaming broadcast from your computer.
In no way can it magically stream HLTV on autopilot. But, it would be great if someone wanted to use it for shout-casting matches while streaming their view at the same time.

Turn on the auto-director in the hltv server and leave it streaming!!

Haha, if someone really wants to dedicate their own computer/internet connection, more power to them I guess??
Just seems really silly.

Well, I have zero interest in watching HLTV demos of the people that play this game now. I did it once and it's not happening ever again. But, I agree, more power to whoever wants to dedicate a box and internet connection to doing this.

Would the hltv streaming be able to do so with third party support that some movie makers, and a few 13 year olds, use to enhance the viewing apparatus?

I would love to do that but my comp probably isn't powerful enough with my single core processor.

It is running if anyone is curious enough to try it out. When it switches to the next demo the server will disconnect you, I haven't figured out a way to automate client reconnect quite yet.
connect 72.28.204.36:27020

I figured out a way to make clients automatically reconnect when the server transitions. So if you wanted to stream continuously to twitch tv: setup your stream, connect to the server and walk away. Done.
