Hello, I was told by Apatik that you were interested in adding a DOD:S section on nineteeneleven, and possibly for TPG as well. That's great, and I was going to make a post for Apatik on the forums, but I wanted to speak with you first about some of the details. Can you email me at ************@gmail.com? or add me on steam, my username is ********.
I NEVER said that to anyone. This person lied to you.
Now we can talk about it sure. Just had to clear this up.

Let's all congratulate narc on using a gif. golfclap.
Yeah, you were screwed during the whole DCN fiasco. I know you definitely wouldn't go begging them to come over after that.
I'm sure we all have our opinions on source. I've said it before, that if they had their own section here, it would make both communities stronger. Maybe get some of the few people who used to play 1.3 to come back, while some of us maaaay test the waters on source. (If they had 2 divisions, i would give it a shot). Their website/forums are awful, probably one of the reasons they are worse off than us. I wouldn't mind if they used tpg as long as it wasn't on sundays. The whole point of using it would be to get more players for both of us.

I think we should walk away
But in all seriousness, I'm all for it just as along as their match day is not on Sundays.

Oh hahah Cass probably mistyped and said Narc but gave me Sears's profile and then when I spoke to Pande I said it was Narc instead of Sears. My bad!
Anyway, defiance pretty much summed it up! We are working on getting enough teams to at least make 2 divisions. If SA teams were to join us it would greatly help us and 2, maybe 3 divisions would be possible. I think by "merging" both communities it would benefit us all and it would definitely help to organize LANs, get sponsors, etc.
Many people from Source come from 1.3 and vice versa and I know for a fact we already have 1 or 2 team(s) in building for the next TPG season.

I didn't mean any disrespect, I guess I just really wanted to use a gif. LOL But who is Apatik? Idont know this guy and why he would go around saying that. Im not against Source coming to TPG ( I have no say in 1911) but it would be something that needs to be discussed in depth before it happens.

If the source community wants a TPG division, get someone to be admin for it, and hit up Narc.
If the source community wants to talk about having a space on 1911, then have someone who isn't cass contact me so I don't have to deal with the ridiculous game of telephone via the forums.

When you PM'd me about that DODS thingy I explained that
1911 is ran by
Sears and that you would need his approval for bringing dods community here. After I PM'd him about 1911 accomodating the source community, Eric asked me to contact you directly so I sent you his profile.
I remember I suggested you to ask
Narc about the possibility of a DODS division in
TPG, what I even further added that it'd be a longshot that could worth the try. My english is broken, yeah, I'm sure I haven't mistyped anything.

If we move forward with any plans to have Source on 1911, we'll have a poll open so people can vote. I'm not going to open it up if its just going to be a huge flame fest.

Source has been falling apart first because the game is frustrating to play, and second because the community they had (and maybe still have on a much smaller scale?) was pretty awful. The only benefit in adding the community here would be added traffic to the site (is it needed?).

Source blows but what's the harm in letting them have their own sub-forum or something. Throw in another TPG division, give one or two of them admin control over it, and let it flourish or fail.
Seems like a low cost-high benefit situation. If the Source kids fuck up the opportunity, then it's no loss to Sears or Narc or anyone in 1.3. If they make the most of it, the communities are both a little bit stronger by way of combining community and competitive hubs.

Half the problem is that its not the entire source community as a whole looking to merge. They still have TCN aka DCN. That league is still set up and running with admins and teams. Would all the source teams come over to tpg? Maybe not at first but there would be a chance they would after seeing how TPG is just an easier site to use and just ran better imo. So it would be a very slow process with souce coming over. As for 1911, I think on paper its a good thing, but in reality it will just be a flame war between the two. I dont know why source and 1.3 never got along. I dont think 1.3 gets along with any other community. As many goof balls as we have in 1.3, I love our goofballs. Wouldn't want it any other way. I just think as long as TCN is up and running it will just be a fight to see who merges with who and not the source community joining as a whole. I dont think they have that many teams to sustain both. They need to stick together like we do. Either with TCN or TPG, not both. When I was with DCN the 1.3 community actually embrassed it and supported me, I thought that was great and shows me how close this community really is. The source community dont have that. That will be their downfall.

I doubt the source community will switch to TPG fully, but we were considering TPG as an option for a sunday league which is a step your way. We're either doing this at Fragdods, or possibly TPG. There's pros and cons to both options for us. I don't understand why this had to be posted publicly, but if this is in TPG's best interest let me know.
Regarding the forums, I think trying to merge the source community to nineteeneleven would pretty much kill what's left of the source community. It's pretty dead right now, but it can be revived. I'm actually considering the COF mod depending on what the community thinks.

How would adding a sub-forum on 1911 for source players kills what's left of the source community? That makes zero sense at all. You're not being forcibly relocated to 1911 or TPG like Polish Jews.
And as far as the doubts about the source and 1.3 communities' ability to get along with one another on 1911, it's a self-policing problem. If it does result in a flame war, then the Source kids will be banned pretty quick because of all the rep power 1.3 players have on here.
I don't see any real cons to this proposal, besides the time investment in adding another division section on the TPG website and a sub-forum on 1911 (which is probably pretty negligible, but that's not my department).

Adding a sub-forum on nineteeneleven for source wouldn't do anything at all to harm the game. It might actually help, but transferring the community and using nineteeneleven as the primary source site and then the whole thing falling out over time because of retarded feuds would probably do a lot of damage to it. Since 1.3 is on Sunday, I realize TPG probably wouldn't want to open a competing source league during the same night, so maybe monday or thursday would be best.

What do you mean you don't understand. More than one person puts effort into this site and TPG combined. Have a little respect. The 1.3 community is better than the source community for a reason...

What community website is the source community using now?
- To interject my opinion on the matter:
1. I think we can all agree that the flame fest between the two communities would be on an epic level, once we are all put together on one community website. I would be really annoyed if people from another game were to go on here and interject there opinions about the rules we have in our game or the way we play it.
2. We don't need the traffic, honestly what are we going to gain together as a group? It isn't like there are any sponsors around that are seeking the attention of a few hundred gamers playing 2 dead games. They barely support CS 1.6 and CS:Source which have 50 times (probably much more) the ammount of competetive players. There just isn't a gain for the merger of the communities.
3. Maybe we can gain a few new teams to our game.. That is a possibility, however, what if those new teams brought in a few more cheaters. I mean if they don't really give two shits about DoD 1.3 and only care about Source then I could see more of a chance for them to cheat. At the very least- half of the teams will die before the season even gets to the 3rd week mark much like how the source teams in DCN worked out.
- The one suggestion I would have for adding Source to TPG is try a Draft first. It is the best way to test something with the least involvement. You don't really have to worry about admins keeping interest for too long and if 4 teams worth of players join up then maybe you have something worth trying. But, if it does work there really isn't much of an option left for 1911, you would want those source players to use 1911. It is the best and easiest way to get information accrossed. I hardly check the TGP website for rule changes or updates on whats going on with the scheduling for upcoming weeks.
All-in-all I would say no. I wish it could work and it probably could work, but no one is going to be happy about it and you might find the source community to be split in two. Kinda like how it took some of the dod community so long to switch from GotFrag to 1911.

I would like to know why you are picking Sunday as your day for this league, as it makes no sense.
Using TPG is a way for both our communities to come together. However, you are putting it right on the same night as our league. If you want more teams (like we do) Pick a different night.

As of right now we're looking at Sunday. We know we'll be able to have stronger activity from source players, i.e., pubbers, south americans, realism, and the current and returning competitive source players if the league is on a Sunday, but limited activity from 1.3 players. If it seems like there will be enough participation from 1.3 to justify changing the day to Monday it could be a possibility. I'm still going to raise this issue with the other admins. The league will not be launching for about a month so there is plenty of time to pan these things out.
If it is on Sunday, I will make sure there are stiff penalties for not working with the opposing team to schedule a match to provide flexibility for 1.3 teams. For instance, more than 2 forfeit wins = not being eligible for playoffs. And matches wont need to be reported until Thursday to allow matches to be scheduled throughout the week. I do not know how the ranking system at TPG goes yet so this is of course just an idea, but if no cooperation is shown with the opposing team, then maybe we can find a way for it to effect them in the ranking system, where for example a FFW = 0 points, FFW (w/ no cooperation) = -1 point, and FFL = -2 points, while two or three FF anything = playoff ineligibility.

Or just don't make matches on Sundays if you want any 1.3 participation.

I am the one that told them not to worry about any 1.3 cross overs. if they wanted to play, they would be already. They need to focus on getting their community back in one place. Not hoping for teams from 1.3. Sunday is the best night for matches. Don't really matter what game it is. Thats why I suggested they just start out playing on sundays.
