There are like 4 buttons to push. Announcement, Event, and some other things. Announcement pops up in the corner and goes away. Event just pops up and makes you hit close. Leave the group or turn off the events if you don't like it. Why complain when you can fix it? Not trying sound like a dick. Event or Announcenment, works either way.
