Upper:
Lawnchair Mafia1 vs. dirty ghetto f**ks
Slightly embarrassed to admit that I'm not too familiar with the guys on dgf, not sure if they are aliased or started playing after I was gone, but it sure seems that their teamwork is solid based on victories over THUNDER and FLATout. LcM has a combo of washed up stars of yesteryear and some stars of the last few years. All of this should make for a good match.
My pick: dgf in a close one.
team 99 vs. THUNDER
99 is another Upper team filled with a lot of guys I remember from 05/06, and are off to a 1-1 start with a win over FLATout and a loss in a close one to LcM. THUNDER has more washed up guys on its roster than people pubbing on a weekday afternoon, but the starters are rust free and ready to win. In an unrelated note, Jaggon's Facebook relationship status has changed more times in the last week than gas prices. <3.
My pick: THUNDER
Donkey PunchN Krew vs. FLATout
dpK has started off 0-2 after playing a solid Winnfield & Sons team (dpK would win that match on LAN, but then again, who wouldn't? JOKES!!!) and then losing a real close match to team risK. FLATout was moved up from Lower at the start of the season and is also 0-2, after losing to 99 and dgf. They seem to be a bit more polished than the team I remember playing twice last season.
My pick: dpK will earn its first win of the season led by the king of random double kills and wallshots, k4b00m.
Wraith Rangers vs. Winnfield & Sons
*INSERT your own joke about Blackhawk benching himself to give his team the best chance to win* Couldn't skip that, so now to the important part. WR has made some roster changes(upgrades) since coming close to winning Lower last season (cough internet connections cough) and have started off 1-1 this season after a FF loss and win over a solid GSR team. W&S is a team that some think would be outfragged by Stamp on LAN, but since we are talking about TPG, this is not an issue. Solid roster has been bolstered by the addition of nomis, which should make a difference when the playoffs roll around.
My pick: W&S by a lot.
GameSpy Rangers vs. team risK
As a longtime member of mocked pub clan, I can relate to GSR. This is a group of solid players who play well together and had success last season. risK has recently reformed as its old members reappeared out of nowhere in order to chase DoD glory once again. Based on a blowout loss to LcM and close win against dpK, it's hard to tell exactly where this team stands right now.
My pick: risK in a close one.
Lower:
Fatal Mistake vs. Believe the Hype
fM is coming off a season where we won Lower, and then immediately lost a rifle and a heavy, to be replaced by BFE friends. Netherhell has just left for the summer, and I am now sniping. BtH includes our old heavy Odin, along with players from 475th and MM. BtH figures to have the edge in bunker with Crawtona assisting Odin, so the pressure will be on us to dominate middle. We shall see...
Mr.Magoo's vs. Hell's Kitchen
Pub clan 1 vs. pub clan 2.
My pick: MM because some guy from HK was annoying in a pub.
Most Valuable Playerz vs. Merrill's Marauders
MvPz lost a bunch of their good players and moved down to lower, filling out the roster with jb, motive, and Schmiggs (who assisted in our victory in Lower, by grabbing 2 flags while dying 8 times without a frag, when Adam dropped in the first half. In his defense, he wasn't ready for the beast that is Blackhawk going long.) 475th has lost some of their better players.
My pick: MvPz
TeamLess vs. LightninG
TeamLess beat fM twice in the preseason, but was surprisingly routed by BtH to start the season. Not sure if this is attributed to roster issues, but this match should be a good indicator of what can be expected from them this season. Lightning lost a close match to fM to start the season and followed it up with a big win over MVPz. However, the fact is that Stamp, who is perpetually looking to add 5 players to his roster, only has 9 on there right now. This does not bode well for them, even though logic says 9 should be more than enough.
My pick: LG assuming they don't FF.
Bad Ass Wankers vs. BaD AsS MoFoS
BAW has lost both k4b00m and greeley (just banned for a year) this season, and I have no clue if Miller is playing. Assuming he is, let me offer this piece of advice to BaM, BRING HLTV!!! HLTV should easily shut him down, after last season's unimpressive display against 475th in the playoffs. BaM has a few guys I've heard of and seem decent.
My pick: BaM wins if Miller doesn't play or if Miller plays with HLTV on (I'll even give you ours if we aren't playing at the same time!)
VMF-214 Blacksheep vs. Not Good Gaming
VMF is reeling from the loss of the most legit player since Caliban, Kodiac. The guy had more snapshots than a photographer, and no they weren't legit. I never see NGG guys pubbing/scrimming, but they seem decent enough based on a close game against BtH.
My pick: NGG
