I'd definitely give aleutian a shot in the rotation as one of the custom maps.

My rotation would be something like:

pre season 1 dod_emmanuel (let mogers (and myself) have some fun)
pre season 2 railroad classic (good map take away the rusty of the fingers)

week 1 anzio (last season finals)
week 2 muhle_b2 (or aleutian inb4 tox says that its the worst map ever made)
week 3 donner (balanced and oldschool map between custom maps)
week 4 cal_sherman (ck will drop 60)
week 5 harrington (must have)
week 6 chemille (must have)
week 7 railroad2_b2 (must have)
week 8 lennon_b2 (must have)

quarters anzio (classic map for playoffs)
semis lennon_b2 (classic map to determine what team does have the skill of holding a team in the spawn area)
finals donner (we've been rotating the finals map pick between anzio, harrington and rr2 for like 10 seasons. shouldn't we give donner a chance to determine who is going to win the season? discuss)

I'd put sherman in the same league as muhle for worst map... just a complete nade fest. Not fun to play at all for rifles. I've always thought aleutian was a decent map, and would be happy to see it in rotation again, even for preseason.

lennon, if a team make their way to playoffs even if they are taking ff wins or by some shitty disputes and they are shitty then lennon will single them out early and quick. Unless they dispute/ff.
harrington is just a standard map, it is good and its fun.
As bewton said, modify the donner cfg so you get less point for playing like a faggot hiding everywere. More points for holding 2nd flag and capouts.

And chemille is a must have, like fuck, bazookas? they're fun.

Also, that map lindbergh that hisey made is actually good.

these threads are always full of bad bad bad (but hilarious) choices. if you guys really want to play some of those maps, participate in dod classic. the maps like aleutian, muhle etc have been tried MANY times and were removed for a reason. changing the playoff maps is a bad idea because they've been proven to be the best maps under the circumstances of a single elimination setting. donner/chemille as a finals map will never end well. we did it to noluck one season of cal literally because of how gay of a map it is and knowing that it would upset them to the point we could easily win. stick to what works, put other maps in the preseason, but tweaking the regular season with all this craziness will just end with teams refusing to even play some of those maps. ace's new map will end up in the preseason this season and that could end up working out. emmanuel got added prematurely and the majority of the game hated it but it will likely end up in the regular season yet again so there ya go, there's your newer map. have fun!

it's like, on the red corner there are the purists that don't wanna anything being changed at all because it would disrupt what have been done for years. but there is also the blue corner, with people that besides competitiveness, also wants some things changed for the sake of trying and develop new things. i don't think anyone here (besides op) want an entire revolution on the map rotation. regular season will have the same 6 maps that have been played over and over again and playoffs will have 3 of these 6 maps. we have been using anzio, rr2 and harrington for quite a while. lennon have been used from time to time i guess. frankly, i can't understand why can't we have chemille or donner as playoffs maps since they're part of the elite 6 and are very playable maps.

someone have said it in 1911 before something like "playing dod at this stage only counts for you" and this quite depicts the game's scene: there is only just 1 dod league (out of two continents), no visibility or coverage, no prizes. anything at all besides the aforementioned league, a forum and ourselves, the nerds, that still persists in playing, making teams, videos, etc, all of that because we like this old-fashioned game.

anyway, thats my opinion.

I'm pretty much cool with any map rotation as long as we can try some new maps in preseason despite their flaws so we can make them better. Despite the flaws of emmanuel, I think it is a pretty decent map and with new maps coming out such as villa we should probably give them some preseason time.

Lets be real, almost all maps are basically the same. you can go left, right or up the middle to the double cap.Put in a set of double windows for the snipers,a dark room for campers,some boxes/ crates for the peekers an wah la.That being said I like the idea of a couple new maps in the regular rotation.lindbergh,emmanuel, aleutian and villa tho i haven't seen it, if Mikey likes it its gotta be good.Pick 2 of those ,throw em in and lets go.

How many seasons of "testing" the same shitty maps over and over in preseason does it take before it is in fact known that the map sucks?

How about just playing good maps the whole season (even if you have to repeat them during the season, not only for playoffs) so people can enjoy playing this dead game? CS is basically played on 5-6 maps every season and bad/old maps get thrown out with no complaints from the community.

Been saying this for awhile. Never happens. People demand other maps, then complain about how shitty the map is.

Dod has a small pool of actually viable maps for comp play.
