so yeah, my dod freezes randomly and then i have to ctrl+alt+delete out and end task on dod, when its closed i get a bubble in the lower right hand corner that says "Display Driver has stopped responding but has recovered". Guessing its my graphic card, but i dont understand how because i can run guild wars 2 and a bunch of other newer games completely fine.
Any ideas fellow dod players on how to fix this?

Mine has been crashing lately aswell, especially on servers similar to GSR. I'll get like a high amount of choke, then fps drops then it suddenly freeze and crash, it's weird as my games fine in a 12man or on a smaller server.

You need to properly clean out your old drivers as there could still be files / drivers left over that were no properly removed.
1. Uninstall all drivers within windows.
2. Reboot
3. Reboot into safe mode.
4. Run Driver Sweeper -
http://www.techspot.com/downloads/4266- ... eeper.html
5. Select only the AMD graphics / nVidia graphics + physx
6. Analyze + Clean
7. Reboot
8. Install the latest drivers for your card via amd or nvidia site
9. ?????
10. Profit
Another thing, you may want to reinstall your latest DirectX runtime just for shits and giggles. Look up your card to see what it is capable of and go to microsoft to get it.

I'm gonna go to the post office and get the new card tomorrow, hopefully this crashing issue will go away. I'll let you know Casey, it might just be a driver issue.

I keep coming back to this thread looking for someone to have made a "turn off your hacks lol" joke. I'm not sure if I'm proud of everyone for not being lame or sad about the lack of drama. Both maybe?

i just saw that dod is creating mdmp files (minidumps, in the day of defeat folder), you porbably could read them with the windows debbuging tool, then you will know for sure which driver or whatever is cousing dod to crash.
