Match Page

In the near future matches will be linked, so that you can see a break down of each half and the user comments that have been available to be entered, but never displayed. Before I finalize and release this page I will go through the database and clean out any vulgar words or phrases from the match comments. Please do not use vulgarities when reporting match comments or risk suspension. This page will also display the match number which will be used in the new server mod coming out soon that will allow you to roster check from console.

Sample pages:
Reported match: http://www.tpgleague.org/match.php?mid=6255
Unreported match: http://www.tpgleague.org/match.php?mid=6286
Forfeited match: http://www.tpgleague.org/match.php?mid=6254

I'll be adding more fields as well such as final score and map name. The page isn't completely done yet. I just wanted to give fair warning about the match user comments being displayed soon.

Maybe the scores can link to end rounds that the user can upload

Or maybe when you do your roster check it adds something to your server logs and you can upload those and we can display stats?

I know its really no importances but could we add logos to this? It would give the page a little more appeal. And I agree with end game screen shots. You have to take them anyway may as well create a database for that too.

What do you mean by logos? Like little axis and allies icons?

I think he means like team logos. Like how on the cal site you had a like 100x100 avatar for your team or whatever.

I plan on making a "User" page and adding additional things to the Team page in the future. The one thing I want to add to both is linking to the user's steam profile and linking to the team's steam group. I figure those are more useful than IRC these days. I have already removed IRC from the team info page.

Match page is live! You can access this page by clicking the score of your match on the season schedule page or on your team page:

I think I'm going to do a Map page soon as well. It will have a picture of the overview and a download link, but it will also show statistics on the map such as average allies score and average axis score. I think this would be neat.

Feel free to link your end round screenshots in the user comments page when you report a win.

this is a good idea too, though i know vertex is lazy and wont upload them when he reports. is there a way members of the team can talk on the match stats page? I would upload them.

cool work bullet, keep it up.

I don't know if you overlooked it or just didn't address it directly but I think Nunz was talking about team logos, like previously mentioned. It would be on the page that displays the teams roster and also when you have "team a vs team b" their logos would be in front of their name, or something similiar.

Either way no biggie, but I was always a fan of cool team banners/logos. Some very creative and hilarious ones over the years.

I like the idea as well. The team logos and uploading would come at a later time though. I have other things I want to get out there first. My one main goal is to display all of the missing data that is entered into the database, but not displayed on the site. For example the scores for each half and the member search.

Some of the things I'm looking into doing:
- A page for each user (team history, link to steam profile, avatar, etc...)
- A page for each map (stats on that map, image of overview, download link, config link, illegal spots, etc...)
- A page to view standings and schedules from previous seasons
- A resources page that will link to various DOD related sites and download sites as well as how to information
- An on site support ticket system, so we don't have to link out to a 3rd party one. This would automatically link a dispute to your account, your team, your match, and even let you check off players on the opposition roster you wish to dispute. With this information we could even flag the match as disputed on the schedule page until the dispute was resolved.

I appreciate it, but I don't need any money. I'm doing it for fun. I came across some free time recently (i.e. I had knee surgery and can't play hockey at the moment), so I figured I would make some long needed changes to the site. As obnoxious and annoying of a language as PHP is I'm actually having a good time making the changes. I use .Net at my job, so it is fun to use something different for my hobby.

Why does this not work for TPG Europe when I look?

The sides for that league were not named (i.e. Allies and Axis were not in the dropdown when the scores were being reported)

I have added these values, so that they will be there going forward. I will modify the page, so that when the sides are missing it will just display "Side 1" and "Side 2" on the page instead of not displaying the scores at all.

Thanks. I'm glad to see it is appreciated. I can only hope the changes to the site keep the current participants interested in playing in the league. Maybe one day we might even get a league with a different game. The biggest challenge in that though is finding someone who can run a new league for a new game effectively.

This has been fixed. If anyone would like me to add allies and axis to these pages please email me the match id and which sides were axis and allies at bullet@tpgleague.org and I will fix them. Matches going forward will be flagged as Axis and Allies.

This page was always displaying the user's main handle for the site. It now will display the following (first one that returns a result in order):
  • Reporting user's current roster handle if they are still on that team
  • Reporting user's handle on the roster at the time they reported the match if they have left that team
  • Reporting user's main handle for the TPG site
  • Reporting user's user number prefixed with "User#"
I don't think it is possible to reach the bottom two, but just in case I threw them in there.

comparing a site that doesn't generate revenue compared to one that was into the millions is not fair.

You can now set an avatar image URL on your "edit team properties" page. Whenever I finish the ability to display it it will show up on your team page.
