I've been getting bombarded with messages about when season 30 starts, so here is a tentative schedule.

November 18th - Season 29 Finals
OFF/Team creation/Placement: November 25th, December 2nd
Preseason: December 9th, 16th
OFF For Holidays: 23rd, 30th
Week 1: Jan. 6th, 2013.

Well I have tons of Christmas maps. They don't have to be balanced, good, or fair maps. It is preseason

That being said one of my favorites is dod_xmass_tree. The one where you have to climb up a giant tree to get to the flags.

Does anyone know of any other Christmas maps?

xmas_lodge is pretty cool (other than no spawn protection), dod_i_wuv_xmass has some bugs on the map, and dod_xmas_tree has been overdone. The rest of the maps I have to find missing models for.

Just tried dod_frosty and that would be an amazing map to pub, but the map is too huge and has ice with little friction on it which would make it bad for even a preseason league match.

Christmas is not a good time to run any league play. Nobody is ever around, I for one will not be anyway.

Well it wouldn't be right on Christmas and it would be preseason, so the matches wouldn't count anyway. It would be for fun. But given the large number of teams that will be missing, maybe we should make it an opt-in tournament instead of a preseason game.

Most of the maps are fairly large, so it would probably have to be 6v6 instead of 3v3 as well.

(not on 24th or 25th, maybe 23rd or 26th will be good )

Try saying that to my last boss at CSX. He tried to get an electrician to work overtime at the last second on Christmas Day, the electrician said "I've got plans already with my family, sorry." To which my old boss replied, "There wouldn't be a Christmas without CSX." No joke, pretty much why the entire locomotive shop/service pit hate him.

if the xmas tournament was early in December like 1st or 2nd week i would enter the tournament but that close to xmas would be to much for me as i want to spend time with my Family which is more important to me at that time of the season as This xmas is going to be really tough for my family it will be 6 months since my mom Died and xmas was always one of her favourite times of the year

You would have each team then arguing to play a certain map because they play better on said map. The teams wouldn't come to a decision and you'd see posts all over 1911 about this team trying to screw this team, etc, etc. Bad idea.

LOL Intermediate is basically South Americanville...

Happy Helmet, SaB, 151 and MoB... skill gap in Main.

Decent skill gaps in Invite, but still balanced. I like it.

As it always needs to be said, since people like to F5 constantly, nothing is set in stone. The only thing you can count on for now, is open having very few teams.

I think the same, there are way too much teams in invite. I think invite should be composed with the 8 best teams.
