For two years I played on a Macbook Pro "13 just fine. With a 120hertz monitor and external keyboard and mouse. Recently I've been playing on a friends stationary PC, since my MacBook has started acting weird. But this PC takes up way too much space. So I'm thinking of buying a Mac Mini. The only games I play is DoD/CS. I study/work with illustrator and photoshop so its nice to have a Mac in that purpose. And with Bootcamp it allows me to use both Mac OS and Win.

Will DoD work best with Quad Core of Dual Core?

I'm not sure what the core's of a computer are, so I can't help, sorry.

But, how do you get DoD to work on a Mac? Can I do that to any other game?

Mac has a program called Bootcamp. What it does is basicly allowing you do install another operating system. You just choose how much space its allowed to take from the Mac OS operating system.
You might need to make a "safe copy" of your harddrive before it lets you go any further. Best thing to do is to install win through bootcamp right away before you start using your mac. Then just insert win cd and follow instructions.
Then when you start your computer you just press down "cmd" if i remember correctly, next to space, then you can just click and choose what operating system you want to use.
So basicly I dont get it to work in Mac OS. I play in windows, on my mac.

Since you say you are going to use adobe products, I would say you go with the quad core model. It will benefit you a lot more in the long run.

Windows > OS X

Apple is just some overpriced piece of shit.

I suggest you to buy a laptop instead for a Mac Mini.

or buy a mITX pc

Finns ju bättre saker att köpa istället för en Mac Mini, laptop fördras om du ska på LAN också (slippa bära på datorskärm)
Sedan blir ju prestandan bättre.

I dont need a laptop like i did before. It's enough with stationary computer plus an ipad.
When I compared my macbook pro to other laptops, it was worth the extra pennys. Their touchpad is on a complete other level than any pc.

PS(or any other editing programs) that can use several cores(and the I7's HT), are worth the extra for the more expensive one. So get the quad core.

Steam is available for Mac now, so i guess it should work.

You cant play halflife engine 1 games on mac os. Only source and so on.

mac mini's are really dope little machines. They're a tad bit over-priced but for the form factor and custom sized parts, its still an ok buy.

always future proof your purchase as much as you can, while it may be impossible, the point of it remains. Buy more oomph now, (quad core) and you'll have to worry less about upgrading sooner in the future.

That did make sense. Yesterday I actually future listened to your advice. Bought the mac mini with quad and upgraded it from 2.3 Ghz to 2.6 with 8GB of memory instead of 4

My Macbook is a work computer, and I don't have it set up for bootcamp or anything.

Also, I don't enjoy playing DoD.

the new mac mini line up was a disappointment. ivy bridge upgrades all around but now they don't offer a discreet gpu. I looked at those before I built my own pc. I heard about the release date/announcement and figured I would be at an apple store picking one up then I read the statement and kind of laughed. they would still be good for programming but for video editing and music, it was a bummer.
