1911 Beta

My PC150's have that little volume control and mic switch board on it and my mic switch has gone kaput. Anyone have any idea how to fix it?

buying new ones.

I figured James but I don't know how to remove the switch and solder it completely on.

By it being "broken" do you mean you can't turn your mic on/off via the switch, or is your microphone completely not working?

If it's the switch, then one of the contacts is probably loose/off and you would need to re-solder it. You can probably find schematics on the internet.

If it's not, then its probably the actual microphone component and the transducer is probably shot.

yea mare it's the switch ino matter what position it's in it is muted.

Honestly, it's worth a shot. The worst he can do is mess it up even more, best case scenario though, he fixes it and saves himself a good $50+ That's the only reason I have a soldering iron to begin with, I've fixed my laptop charger, my radar detector, and some assorted things here and there.

As for how to go about it, I have no clue without really being able to look at it. My first step would be to remove it and try to re solder all the connections. If the connections aren't your problem then I don't know what to tell you.

they are old, no longer made, and generally of sub par sound quality compared to todays headphones. not worth fixing, because for 20-30 dollars more than you originally paid 5 years ago, you could catch a pair of audiotechnica 700s or some sennheiser 555s. both headphones shit all over the pc150 sound quality, and the mic is easy to replace. just get one of those 4 dollar zalman clip on ones, they work fine.

you got your money out of them. they arent built to last 20 years, they where built for gamers to make a quick buck on gullible kids.
