Had this same mx518 for probably 6+ years, I actually got it for free when my mx510 broke and i called logitech.

Anyways I think it's about to die, right click won't work 100% of the time, I took it apart, cleaned it, etc, still occasionally messes up.

Hopped on the interwebz to order a new one, but it looks like they've discontinued it :(

What do you guys recommend as a replacement? I'm looking for something that's about the same size, maybe bigger. Got them giant hands.

Also not trying to spend a bunch of money on a mouse.

They didn't discontinue it, they just gave it a new name. The newer, updated model is called the "G400". Sold for $40 at your local Best Buy.

Edit: Keep a receipt handy. I had to do the same thing with a G400 that you had to do with your 510. Logitech was completely cool about it and sent me a new one without any huge hoops to jump through.

Awesome, thanks.

Yeah Logitech has the best customer support i've ever had to deal with. I don't think I even had to mail in the broken mouse. I just read them the serial number and they mailed me a new mx518 since the 510 had been discontinued.

If you like the mx518, the G500 is probably the closest thing. I went from 518, to G5, then I guess they stopped making both, so I got the G500 and it's basically the same, really good mouse.

Yeah, what this guy said. I've actually had Logitech replace mice and it went from mx518 -> G5 -> G500. I think the only difference was the DPI settings on the mice, maybe the chassis has changed also, but it's still the same basic mouse with dpi settings and the weight options.

this and this.

style of mouse is pretty much identical to the mx518. i really enjoy the weighting system in the g500 as well. max the mouse out for precision stops for my strafes!
