IL-2 1946

Anyone into flight simulators? IL-2 1946 is available on steam for less than $10. The game itself has been around for over 12 years but has constantly been updated and modded to have some amazing graphics. IL-2 with the latest patch has over 200 aircraft. Practically every piston engine ever made, even ones that never left the drawing board. Also has the early jets, Me-262's, He-162's, Go-229's and more.
This game covers every theater of war. Even includes the Korean conflict jets. Amazing flight models, damage modeling is unique and thorough. I've played for over 3 years and have yet to be shot down in the same way twice (as far as planes breaking up and such). Comes with a Full Mission Builder so you can literally make anything you want. Campaigns and single missions are available for every plane via http://www.mission4today.com
I personally have always been completely obsessed with WW2 piston engine planes and air combat in general. When I first got this game I almost creamed myself, no joke. All available WW2 tactics can be read from first hand accounts and applied in-game. It is supported by a 6 degree of freedom product called trackir. It allows you to move your head around in the cockpit using your own head as if you were really there. A lot of people use it for shooters like ArmA, but using it in flight simulators is where it shines best, no doubt about it. It steps up the immersion 10 fold. If you want to see a few YT vids of the gameplay by someone is a real life pilot and has read everything there is about air combat tactics check this guy out.

I've flown with him for quite a while and is the "Kellen" of this game. If anyone ends up getting this, let me know and I'll walk you through how to get the updates. For whatever reason steam doesn't auto-update this game. You have to manually apply the patches and can get very confusing for someone who hasn't done it before.
Just thought I'd share. Most of you probably won't like it but you have to admit its pretty cool. One last thing, don't even consider buying the game unless your willing to buy a joystick for the obvious reasons. This particular individual has a joystick, separate throttle control, rudder pedals, and trackir 5.
