Mousefix for Win7

I've heard about this "mouse fix" thing in vent. Enlighten me as to what it is, what it does and how it might possibly help my play. From what I've read it has to do with the acceleration and what not; effectively setting it 1:1. Beyond me understanding that much, what does it really do? I use a MX518 at the lowest dpi setting; if that affects anything.

Thanks for the help.

it removes mouse acceleration, if that's not self explanatory enough then google it.

If you've been playing with it your whole life, you might prefer keeping it.

It helps a lot, but it takes time getting used to. Your mouse will probably seem a lot less sensitive, but at the same time, you'll be able to control recoil and such much easier, I can't really explain how it works, but it definitely makes your aim and control much more smooth.

it removes the windows acceleration on mice so you have a direct 1:1 ratio of movement to position of cursor. cheese's mousefix is actually technically superior to the CPL mousefix now though most people dont notice a difference between the 2.

its a preference thing purely though, a lot of people dont use it, but its become pretty much the norm in any competitive FPS, especially the ones based on the HL or Quake engines.
