TPG Season 25 - Week 6

After getting some input I decided to go with a second predictor each week, so anyone who is interested in contributing some predictions (a little humor and good analysis is appreciated) just contact me. When the playoffs come around, I’m hoping to interview team members playing in the matches. This week I will be joined by my first guest predictor, Alex Kirk!
Upper:
Match of the Week: dirty ghetto f**ks vs. team risK
risK, despite losing to THUNDER on solitude by 100 or so, has a lot of momentum going. I mean, they lost because they had non-regulars playing (including a high school friend who didn't drop 10 the whole match, or something? I think). Cableguy is ridiculous again, patten is ridiculous again, Ivan is ridiculous again, ham is ridiculous again (from anzio match). Vasily, former cheater (just kidding, Ivan) and star of the hit film "Vasily Flawless," will drop at least 40 with the kar accompanying his 39 deaths. Cableguy will also do miraculous things. I think this is a map that dgf has a shot at, though. Bullgooselooney will do a good job holding down bridge, and will probably pistol people from across the map for the majority of his kills. New pickup Matt "Mogers" Rogers, who holds the key to my heart, will beast people if he gets to rifle this map. Canasian will be too awestruck by the fact that the vines on anzio make noise. And of course, there is watch your back (not spelling that fucking name backwards). He will be the anti-vasily this match undoubtedly. All this being said, I think the clutchness of cableguy and Ivan will lead to risK holding out longer than dgf can.
Kirk’s pick: risK by 22
It seems Kirk is going to make me have to raise my game here. Losing to THUNDER with a bench guy playing doesn’t quite qualify as a momentum breaker, so I still see risk as a team on the rise. This is a map that is very dependent on who wins the sniper battle, and this will feature a battle that won’t disappoint. Dgf made a good pickup in mogers to help solidify their team, and the timing couldn’t be any better, as he can help fend off Vasily. However, ultimately I believe the combination of Vasily and Patten will be too much to handle at middle.

Donkey PunchN Krew vs. THUNDER
The first problem I see with this match is I have no fucking clue who will be playing for THUNDER. I don't think they even know. They'll probably pick 2-3 people up before the match or something. That being said, it doesn't matter much since they'll probably win so long as Kellen's crybabiness doesn't interfere with Corey's accusations of poizoned, Justin Lynch, element, and Beast cheating. Which, let's be honest folks, is a stretch as Kellen's crybabiness knows no bounds. I think dpK will put up a fight considering this is merderet, however, and most teams simply win by holding out rather than capping. BUT THUNDER (toxinator) will do whatever is necessary which includes, but is not limited to, sitting in water to break mid caps, proning under axis loft to break mid caps, proning in bat cave to break mid caps, proning on docks to break mid caps, and you get the idea.

And I thought my comments pissed people off, good job Kirk. dpK’s chances certainly weren’t helped by element being suspended for this one due to SS issues. A lot of pressure will be on Beast and k4b00m to both control waterhouse and assist with the bridge. However, JgN’s job just became easier and as such, I see THUNDER fully pressing their advantage on bridge. I don’t think a shorthanded dpK can get it done here. Wait a second…I’m forgetting something… Cory Marko relationship update! In the never-ending drama that is his relationship status, it appears he is a single man for the time being. This relationship has vaulted into one of the top 10 rollercoasters in the United States, and hopefully has no role to play in Sunday’s match. I’ll still give THUNDER the nod.

team 99 vs. Wraith Rangers
Finally a match that 99 can win. 99, pretty much entirely composed of CheckMate Vent Crew members, is bad. I mean, REALLY bad. Mostly because of the fact that they were associated with the XMVC. When Kevin "stealth" Gardner starts for a team, you know something is wrong, and 99 is no exception. While Kevin has toned down the vent raging, he has been unable to tone up the frags. It's only been 8 years, Kevin, you'll get it eventually. If anything Kevin's raging abilities have been passed on to Leroy, and if he can tone down the bitching, I think Leroy could do some damage considering I taught him everything he knows from our time together on the infamous pubclan |SoV| in 2004. Jared (acetamino) may cheat, he may not cheat, he might drop 50, he might drop 10. He's the wildcard of 99. Joe Ledmunds will drop 14 per half if lucky. Bobson will probably do really well. WR has shreddies, king of the 12mans. Unfortunately shreddies doesn't seem to be king of the matches, so his extensive 12man experience won't do WR TOO much good. WR does have Pepsi who is pretty good, but I think leroy/ace/bobson will be able to contain him. Overall, I think 99 should have this one in the bag. Especially since Paul Mend0za gleams on their roster, regardless of being inactive.

It seems I’m going to need to add a disclaimer to this thread after that diatribe on both teams. However, I think the coconut of irony just dropped on Kirk’s head after the multiple cheat accusations. Actually, I think the coconut tree might uprooted and came crashing down on him. In his great haste to call out half of the DoD community, it seems my co-predictor seems to have missed the fact that 99 actually has won a match this season. Now that I have tried to clean that mess up (unsuccessfully I’m sure), back to this match. Unfortunately, there doesn’t seem much to say. 99 is a strong favorite to win against an outgunned WR team that is also dealing with roster issues.

GSR wins by FF? If not, Godlesscommie proning on corners and MAJL STG'ing people across the map while running will demoralize the inactive LcM and remind them why they don't really play this game anymore.

It appears one of the preseason favorites to compete for the Upper title have fallen apart/quit DoD again, so it seems unlikely this match will even be played.

Winnfield & Sons vs. slow loris
I won't predict who will win or anything, but I'll tell you what will happen: Joey Harter will be complaining about naming our team after jules, jules will get naded 40 times, Rob will mm1 for slow loris players to kill themselves after he 90's them and they snapshot 1deag him, and jarrod will be too busy flying next to the plane that goes over the bridge every minute or two with his airplane scripts. Some people (Rob) will bring up the fact that rdk was banned for cheating/almost banned for cheating/is cheating in the match. And hildebrand (former Winnfield family member) will undoubtedly be complaining to his team to push harder and faster not knowing that this is merderet and you usually win by holding and that capouts aren't exactly common.

I on the other hand, will predict who will win and will tell you right now...NOBODY wins because as my momma always said, cheaters never prosper, which means half of the people in this match won’t be very prosperous. Okay I’m done with that. W&S may be the second best team in Upper now, with no glaring weaknesses, because let’s face it, they have been able to hide the cheats for…sorry I did it again. Slow loris is coming off a good opening match against dgf, and look to be a solid group. However, I think W&S is a little too talented for sl here.

Match of the Week: Most Valuable Playerz vs. Believe the Hype
I only really recognize crawtona and GRIMM from bth, so...And |MVPz| lost to fM (as did bth) and lightning which had a stacked roster early in the season with players like hXc, if I remember. So despite the difference in records, I think this will be the MOTW for TPG lower. As long as rwc is NO WHERE near this match, of course. I'm assuming jb, motive, Narc, Sears, Schmiggs, _____ will be playing. Sears is probably the worst player to grace this game, even worse than BlackHawk, so I sincerely hope they put him on the bench. Regardless of Sears being shitty as all fuck, jb and motive will probably be the deciding factors for this match on the side of MVPz. Assuming both of them play, that is.

Having played both teams this season and being a lower specialist, I can fill in the gaps for Alex here. BtH now has GRIMM to go along with Odin and Crawtona. MVPz will probably be playing Traize instead of Sears as well as rwc. I’m looking to Schmiggs here to put bridge on lockdown, which should make the difference for MVPz.

Fatal Mistake vs. TeamLess
Two of the teams I happen to recognize in TPG lower. While TeamLess does have some decent players (ziggy is NOT one of those decent players), it seems they don't have the skill or teamwork to match up to fM. With seasoned players like Cheatnick15, Expunge, and skull, I don't see how they could possibly lose this match. Especially with Cheatnick15 sniping on a map created for snipers. Now if I were the leader of fM, I would maybe make a quick swap of skulladin for stamp to really solidify the chance of winning this match and really the rest of the season. Because, let's be honest, stamp is just way better than skull. That being said, fM should still win regardless of skull's deficit in skill relative to stamp. The biggest worry fM should have seems to be Swave, ziggy's z-key, and maybe Krudy depending on the day. If I were TeamLess I would throw a hail mary and let Mr. Coffee play. Just a thought.

Kirk forgets that my special powers only exist on donner, so I won’t be in Cheatnick mode. There may be a few “Trust me, he’s in sniper loft.” moments though. We are coming off a game against MVPz that was definitely closer than the score indicates, as we were losing after the first half and could have been capped on towards the end. TeamLess seems to have lost a few included lerfooled and duality, so one of their rifles and sniper for the match in unknown at this point. Kruddy and ziggy are solid, so I’ll have to be on the lookout for them from my windows. Oh yeah and I completely agree with that random and ceaseless Skull/Stamp breakdown. Beautiful analysis.

1080p vs. Heavy Hitters
HH has wicked, who probably/definitely/wouldbetonmymotherslife cheats. So while I don't know the people playing with him, they are probably decent in the fact that they know what gamma is and can counter-strafe. That and they have low moral standards when it comes to video games. Which means it's possible/likely at least one or two other players on HH cheats as well. 1080p does have some recognizable names, however. SKiNnTo, defiance, nugz, etc. Defiance, notorious GotFrag poster of stuffonmycat.com, may be too busy playing in the BAM avalanche server to be in this match. Or perusing images of cats with random objects on their head. It seems 1080p will probably rely most on nugz and Bromley assuming both are playing this week. Will they be able to offset the awesome cheating power of the other team? Probably not. Unless Bromley wants to step it up in the cheat department which we ALL know he is capable of doing.

Wicked? He’s banned for cheating and I don’t see that STEAM ID on the roster. Now I’m confused. I have no clue who HH is, but know 1080P added Bromley and nugz to go with Defiance, Heineken, and Skinto. I’m going with 1080p as I know nothing about anyone on the HH roster.

Easy. I'm not banned from Merril's pub, but I am banned from the HK pub. So this is a no brainer. 475 will win with flying colors. HOWEVER, the team is named after a single guy (how selfish of them, RIGHT JULES WINNFIELD?). That will cost them a few points, but the fact that they haven't banned me from their pub will definitely pick up that slack.

475th is named after their worst player it seems, yet your team isn’t named Kirk & Sons so there is a small difference. 475th has won this season against HK before by a big margin, so I’ll base my decision off of that

I do not know anyone on these teams, however, I see some things that lead me to the conclusion that BIO will win. For starters, KS has about 84 people on their roster, and it's not aesthetically pleasing. That will definitely be working against them on a map like merderet. Furthermore, someone on KS has the last name Marko. Now whether he is related to the Marko brothers is irrelevant; he will still come up short this match solely due to name association. BIO, on the other hand, has someone with a four digit steam ID AND another person with the name "dude farts." I don't care who you are, that is fucking impressive.

Easy prediction. First off, VMF probably has 2-3 cheaters on their roster. I mean the guys couldn't recognize the most blatant of aimbots, so you know a few other starters are sneaking in some kind of cheats knowing they won't be found. Wasn't Kodiac the one cheating? He still isn't banned? Looks like TPG just handed them this match on a silver platter. BAW also banned me from their pub on 3 accounts (BUT I HAVE 4 ACCOUNTS, MUAHAHA), so their guilty consciences will definitely be holding them back this match.

Dearest Kirk, Kodiac is banned, just no red line through his name sadly. Based on when we played them this season, I don’t think any of the others cheat, but yeah they fail at recognizing it. They probably didn’t appreciate you blatantly cheating in pubs, that is against the server rules you know. Anyway, VMF I guess because BAW’s two pub cheaters don’t play matches.

HOWEVER, the team is named after a single guy (how selfish of them, RIGHT JULES WINNFIELD?). That will cost them a few points, but the fact that they haven't banned me from their pub will definitely pick up that slack.

I do not know anyone on these teams, however, I see some things that lead me to the conclusion that BIO will win. For starters, KS has about 84 people on their roster, and it's not aesthetically pleasing. That will definitely be working against them on a map like merderet. Furthermore, someone on KS has the last name Marko. Now whether he is related to the Marko brothers is irrelevant; he will still come up short this match solely due to name association. BIO, on the other hand, has someone with a four digit steam ID AND another person with the name "dude farts." I don't care who you are, that is fucking impressive.

Easy prediction. First off, VMF probably has 2-3 cheaters on their roster. I mean the guys couldn't recognize the most blatant of aimbots, so you know a few other starters are sneaking in some kind of cheats knowing they won't be found. Wasn't Kodiac the one cheating? He still isn't banned? Looks like TPG just handed them this match on a silver platter. BAW also banned me from their pub on 3 accounts (BUT I HAVE 4 ACCOUNTS, MUAHAHA), so their guilty consciences will definitely be holding them back this match.

Dearest Kirk, Kodiac is banned, just no red line through his name sadly. Based on when we played them this season, I don’t think any of the others cheat, but yeah they fail at recognizing it. They probably didn’t appreciate you blatantly cheating in pubs, that is against the server rules you know. Anyway, VMF I guess because BAW’s two pub cheaters don’t play matches.
