Schmiggs of MVPz will be joining me as this week’s guest predictor. Again, if anyone else is interested in doing this for any week during the rest of the season, PM me. Also, if you want the HLTV for the match included in this thread, let me know the IP being used.
Upper:
Match of the Week: team risK vs. Winnfield & Sons
This is probably going to be the match of the week. Both teams have talent and teamwork and could easily control either side of the match. The key here is who will be able to cause the most disruption from mountain to mid-ladder. I’m picking winnfield in a close one, but only if Miller plays because he’s incredible.
Schmigg’s pick: W&S
After watching Kirk spew hot fire like Dylan at all the teams playing last week, this is a bit refreshing. As someone who goes mid on this map and is constantly complaining about the other team’s heavies sitting at ladder, I completely agree with Schmiggs here. Cableguy may be a one man army, but I’m not sure if it will be enough to help support the garden cap, which I think will be controlled by W&S more often than not. Also, I pity the fool who faces Jarrod long, but I would recommend sitting in pit as often as possible to wait him out!
Airnick’s pick: W&S by 50
Players to watch
risK: Patten, Cableguy
W&S: Nomis, Jarrod
Lawnchair Mafia vs. Donkey PunchN Krew
LcM has the ability to do very well against dpk, especially on a map like Harrington. However LcM hasn’t been able to get 6 the last 2 weeks so unless something else changes dpk will have a FF win.
Schmigg’s pick: dpK by FF
Just checked the LcM roster, and it looks like there has been a resurrection, or should I say rebirth. They added rebirth, gaul, Iorio, Travis, and tC. I’m not sure who the starting 6 will be, but it seems likely there will be a match. dpK has played well since some tough losses early in the season, and I think their teamwork will be the deciding factor against a team that hasn’t really played together.
Airnick’s pick: dpK by 80
Players to watch
LcM: Hisey, IORIO
dpK: element, k4b00m
Wraith Rangers vs. slow loris
WR are the self proclaimed worst team in Upper and the fact that BlackHawk is still allowed to play matches confirms this. Lost in all of this is that slow loris is actual a pretty good team. They have a solid roster and should be able to win this relatively easily, especially if cheebz toggles on.
Schmigg’s pick: slow loris
WR keeps on going in Upper, but unfortunately doesn’t seem to have any chance of winning a match. Maybe it’s time to get wicked back or tell Sandoval to ask him where to get them from. Slow loris has been surprisingly good for a team that has just started to play together, and shouldn’t have a problem winning this one.
Airnick’s pick: slow loris by 150+
Players to watch
WR: Pepsi (probably the only guy who can get over 20 kills per half)
slow loris: Hildebrand, ceebz
team 99 vs. dirty ghetto f**ks
Starting with Team 99, how the hell have they only won 2 games against 2 of the worst teams in Upper?? When you scrim with them they are e-mazing. Guess it doesn’t turn out that way in matches either due to consistency or lack of toggling in matches. D: dgf is a very consistent team and usually can hang in there with any team to clutch it when it counts. Now having one of my favorite peoples in Matthew Rogers only helps them become a more complete team.
Schmigg’s pick: dgf
Well it is 2011 so I guess cheating accusations are only appropriate, well played Scotty! Should be a close match between two evenly matched tams, and as a result, I think it may come down to which team has the better teamwork in capping and holding the middle. I’m having a hard time making up my mind here, but I’ll go with dgf here.
Airnick’s pick: dgf by 20
Players to watch
99: Bobson, acetamino
dgf: Bull, mogers
THUNDER vs. GameSpy Rangers
THUNDER is probably the most complete team in TPG. They’ve got the talent to win every game and the only thing holding them back is the amount of “care” they actually put into each match. GSR has a decent roster and with MAJL spraying and praying mountain, THUNDER will have to actually put some effort into keeping their first flag on both sides. Basically, if THUNDER tries, they should take this down.
Schmigg’s pick: THUNDER
THUNDER seems to have lost about half of their roster, so it looks like we have a better picture of the starting 6 going forward. They are still the best team in Upper and have won 5 straight, whereas GSR is 4-2 but have 3 FF wins. GSR doesn’t seem to be as good this season as they were last season (no I’m notr going to imply cheats), so I don’t see them having a chance to win this one. I would feel disappointed in myself if I glossed over the fact that Corey claims he is a single man, and is staying that way for awhile! I’m even more confident predicting that he gets back together with his girlfriend by season’s end (after tons of Facebook statuses with emo lyrics) than I am predicting that they win Sunday night.
Airnick’s pick: THUNDER by 100+
Players to watch
THUNDER: JgN, chimpanzebra
GSR: MAJL, Mino
Lower:
Match of the Week: TeamLess vs. Most Valuable Playerz
This should be a good match, especially on a map like harrytown. Jordan v. Chuck in mid should be a great time for those watching HLTV. Teamjbz______ long will also be one to watch. One thing can be assured, josh will still be the best player ever to grace the game if he rolls or gets rolled. Don’t believe me? Just ask him. Lolz
Schmigg’s pick: GLHF
Easily the MOTW this week, as it should be the closest of the Lower matches with players that anyone really knows. I think TeamLess will have the edge around Mountain/Bridge, but MVPz should have control of long. Unfortunately for MVPz, the heavy route directly impacts mid more than long so it should help give lerfooled the edge in his sniper battle against motive, which I think will help TeamLess win in a close match.
Airnick’s pick: TeamLess by 40
Players to watch
MVPz: motive, jb
TeamLess: lerfooled, ziggy
Hell’s Kitchen vs. Believe the Hype
This isn’t going to be pretty. I thought that Odin was on this BtH team, but GRIMM will be enough to roll HK pretty easily. I would love to see HK improve a bit to bring some competitiveness to lower, but I think BtH will be too much for HK to handle.
Schmigg’s pick: BtH
Odin is on the roster, way to not recognize random aliases with symbols that give no clue as to who the hell the guy is! Anyway, HK has no chance here.
Airnick’s pick: BtH by 200+
Players to watch
BtH: GRIMM, Odin
HK: No clue
VMF-214 Blacksheep vs. By InviTe OnLy
What can I say about VMF. Regardless of how cool other members of the team are, I won’t be saying anything positive because their leader, Kodiak is a cheating, aimbotting piece of shit. Nothing against the rest of the team, but that’s enough for me. BIO has had a pretty decent season so far but has yet to report their merderet match. Regardless of whether Kodiak plays or not, VMF is far more talented than BIO and should have no problem with this one.
Schmigg’s pick: VMF
VMF, with or without Kodiac the amazing.
Airnick’s pick: VMF by 100+
Merrill’s Marauders vs. 1080p
475th shows up to play every week and just wants to have fun with it. They’re good guys and even though they do utilize the +prone and MG classes it’s not going to matter. The addition of the FlatOut guys have made 1080p very relevant in lower. Heineken still does his thing with the heavy and is very consistent. nugs is a hell of a rifle and the rest of the team should have no problem working over Merrilsl Marauders.
Schmigg’s pick: 1080p
1080p continues to get better each week but this won’t test them at all.
Airnick’s pick: 1080p by 300+
Players to watch
1080P: Heineken, Bromley
BiO: No clue
Heavy Hitters vs. Fatal Mistake
Heavy Hitters is a newer lower team and from the looks of the score they seemingly got worked on one side of merderet last week. fM is a solid team, skull has lost a step but should be able to handle mountain. Expunge will sound whore and out aim whoever he goes against and Nick will probably just whore up mid-house the entire time. The only way I see fM losing is if they have lowcarb heavy again. Lolz
Schmigg’s pick: fM
According to what I've been told, HH is filled with shady players which should make this a fun time! After being cheated against more than once last season, I look forward to the potential challenge of those without walls. We are coming off a close loss to TeamLess last week, which as Schmiggs pointed out, must be all Skull’s fault in addition to not having the sound whoring expertise of Expunge. I am hoping that I got all of the DoD rage out during that match as I was able to pretty much bitch at people for 40 minutes, which is something I have missed doing. Anyway, looking forward to getting to snipe this map instead of rifling.
Airnick’s pick: GLHF
Players to watch
HH: No clue which guys actually play yet
fM: Expunge, Skull
505th Parachute Infantry vs. Kevlar Soul
The 505th or pub team from the 82nd realism server put a severe spanking on a weak BAW team earlier this season but then was only able to score 1 point against BIO the following week. KS has a huge roster as well, but I recognize red dogg and I think they will be able to out play 505th this week.
Schmigg’s pick: KS
KS still seems to be the best pub clan.
Airnick’s pick: KS
