Sony wins this round's launch and probably the first year or two.
Better spec'd machine for $100 cheaper, that focus's on games - I dont own a Ps3 but this is tempting.

Never liked xbox, but i hope people dont buy it. It's soo expensive and you can't sell your games to other people after you played it on your console and there's only a few stores you can sell your games. You cant even let your friends try out the game at their home. Not sure if this is be true, but thats what ive heard so i can be wrong.
But ofc 8-14 year old kids will buy xbox one to play fucking cod.

How do you people have time for games or consoles? . Ever since youtube, popular tv series, and other random stuff I barely have time for games. And I am allready wasting 90% of my time

yea you don't actually own your games on the new xbox. your friend can only try it on their console if they are logged into your account on their console, and i think there are some restrictions there as well. the policies as they stand state you only own the license to play the games and don't actually own them physically or even digitally in any way. -__-
you can only sell/trade in your games to "authorized" shops, aka gamestop will give you 2 bucks if you're lucky for something worth 50-60. devs also have control over whether or not their game can even be traded in at these authorized places at all. you can't easily let a friend borrow a game (has to log into your account), if you choose to digitally give the license to one of your games away to someone, that game can only be passed on once (from you to your friend, chain ends there. your friend can't give it to anyone after) and it has to be someone who has been on your friends list for 30 days or more. up to 10 xboxes under the same IP can access all the same content between each other including games (sort of cool i guess). wtf kind of rules are these? i liked my original xbox and my 360, but this is shit.
it needs to be authenticated via xbox live servers once a day. if it doesn't you can only play offline for an hour, aka it needs it be online all the time. wtf. kinect camera/mic HAS to be plugged in and can't be turned off unless you pull power from the entire xbox.
too much sketchy bullshit/rules just to play games like you always have. i have more freedom with my original NES packed away in storage that i played as a kid than i do with this new xbox. if i do get a next gen console it will be the PS4, as it is the complete opposite of the xbox one in regards to all these policies and is cheaper. a shame, bc the xbox one has some sweet games and features too. not sure what MS's strategy is here, but it seems like it will fail unless they retract some of these policies.

but yeah. i've stopped playing console games since the N64 but i recently bought a PS3 just to play MK Uncharted and God of War series. i'm impressed on how cool these games turned to be and frankly i think i'm gonna give it a try on the PS4 just keep up with the sequels.
i'm also dying to play Watch Dogs in a next gen console. gonna hack the shit out of alex kirk's hipster gadgets!

So if you don't know, but care, here is this....
-The Xbox 1 REQUIRES an online connection. If you're offline, you can only play on your system for ONE hour.
- The Xbox 1 just recently (after angry people) decided that the kinect camera (like wii motion, if you don't know, but care) WON'T be turned on all the time watching AND listening. When off, it will only 'listen' for the words "Xbox on"
Because of those two points, whoever cared enough to hack the PS3 because they kept saying it was bulletproof, will surely hack the XBox 1. However, in doing so, the Xbox 1 will be a $500 1 hour rental.
Pretty fucked up no?
Edit: And, microsoft is basically going to watch you sleep and listen in on your conversations because you can't unplug the camera.

Ya I don't like the whole listening to my living room conversations for "Xbox On". No thanks, I don't need Microsoft listening to me while I have hookers chained up in cages and shit.

Lots of misinformation in here...cough dustin cough..
You can play xbox1 offline for 24 hours before it needs to "check-in" to the cloud to see if there is any updates or maintenance needed to be made to the system or the games. This is being totally telephoned and blown out of proportion, which is exactly what you're doing. Way to contribute to the mass hysteria that MS is turning into SKynet

yes, but if you try to play offline prior to the console validating/authenticating with Live servers for the day, you have only one hour. which means if your internet went down that day before you were able to turn it on to check in with the Live servers and you want to play campaign until your internet comes back up then you can only play an hour's worth. that's at least how i understand it. maybe it can authenticate while in standby as the kinect listens and watches you lol. i'd never have my system in standby if i owned one. would just pull the power lol.

But without this check in you can't play... there's no reason for that bullshit. And honestly I'm way more worried about the always on Kinect bullshit. If it wasn't for that I might consider buying the console. But for those people without a constant internet connection, and there are A LOT of people in that boat, the XBone is a no go. The fact that Microsoft basically pulled a PS3 after seeing how bad Sony was hit on initial release you think they might have learned a lesson there, but nope... they basically just shit all over their core gaming fan base.

One thing is for sure, I'm not going to spend too much time worrying about what an unreleased product can and cant do. We won't know for sure how much of a pain or how simple this process will be untill it's out. Who knows, its 5-6 months off, MS can change its services and policies very easily based on bad press/fan reception.
I am unimpressed by this generation altogether. Just more of the same, bigger and prettier. e3 used to be exciting.

maybe you would appreciate this (i do), but i loved the street fighter games during the snes and genesis era, and as a kid always loved all the mega man games and on the capcom unity mega man page is a free mega man game (downloadable on PC) called Street Fighter X Mega Man. Essentially, all 8 bosses are Street Fighters done up in mega man sprites plus unlockable bosses if you get a certain amount of perfects like in Street Fighter playing through the game. soundtrack consists of 8 bit mash-ups of mega man and street fighter music. done really well.
trailer:

Download from

game is a lot of fun and supports controller

Btw for those who didn't notice. The ps4 has a more powerful GPU and faster/higher bandwidth Memory (GDDR5 vs DDR3) and some how is $100 cheaper. Sony is definitely eating a few hundo$ a console to get this out the door at $399

Sony said they won't restrict "used games" but in the end it will be up to the developers. If they already have Microsoft on-board with this process and things go well, they will just end up restricting the PS4 in some form or fashion. I call it a power-move from MS. The $100 price point difference, oh well. You get the Kinect with the Xbox, the PS4 doesn't come with it's camera. Why do you nerds care if someone was listening in on your conversation or watching you? Do you think they really give a shit if your're smoking weed or jerking off to hentai porn?

first off lol
Price normally doesn't concern me at launch, it's only going to get cheaper anyway...I just thought it was crazy how Sony has the better/higher end hardware and is still able to beat MS on price. Sony's camera, while no kinect, is only $50. I think Sony gets some credit here for being cheaper.
Anyway, I agree with the watching/listening conversation statement. I have a younger neighbor who uses the kinect for everything..I never knew it could do all it could do, outside of games. I'm thinking the listening/watching thing is just its way of learning you better, so when you use it, it better recognizes whats going on instead of random movement etc. Sure there is always that conspiracy of big brother is watching, but in this case I think the watching is just to collect more data on you to give you a better, more customized service. Nothing wrong with that..

Nintendo just sold me a Wii U with that Mega Man trailer, even if I'm not huge on Smash. If only Capcom would just sell Nintendo the rights to the character instead of holding onto him so that they can keep canceling games and putting out garbage. Their games at this are the only ones that I can see myself enjoying as a a break from the other games that I would prefer on PC. Sony did have an excellent showing though, I'd just wait for the inevitable slim model in a couple years. Our PS3 won't be moving for a while.

Also, lol at Microsoft. Definitely early to say they've lost this gen though, especially since some retailers are currently reporting more preorders for the XBone than the PS4 (Amazon UK being the only one I can recall). They definitely did get stomped from a technical and rights standpoint, and then undersold to boot. I hear their games didn't present anything too mindblowing, but since they're pushing it more as a living room appliance than a games system, I'm guessing they'll continue a push for the casual market, where you really just need something like Dance Central or Wii Sports to move system units.

Although I don't rent or buy used games, and my xbox is always connected to the internet, it's still pretty fucking stupid what Microsoft is doing. Up to this point, my PS3 has pretty much just been a blu-ray player with a few exclusive games being played on it. But, I might be leaning more towards the PS4 for the next gen.
It honestly really depends on what other people purchase. I have 80 xbox friends, and 10 PS3 friends.... Pretty obvious what console I'm going to purchase a multiplayer game that is released on both consoles. Either way, I pre-ordered both on Amazon since I can cancel them anytime leading up to release, and they don't charge you until they ship.
Also, Sony is requiring that you purchase PS+ ($50 a year) to be able to play PS4 games online. Not surprising seeing how much Microsoft makes off of Xbox Live. But it is funny when Microsoft did this, everyone freaked out and said Microsoft was evil, yet when Sony does it, no one seems to care.
