Ok, it should clearly read "Are you not Russeltained?" possibly with Rustletained as the spelling. This shit is just lazy.kirk wrote:I mean, at least your team name is super original.

Actually 3h and db both had 2/3 of an "original" roster.mare wrote:Yes because this is so much different from the original lineups we see on hb, devil, 3h, deadbolt, 38th...

Really? My bad then. I was thinking of this http://web.archive.org/web/200307172141 ... dodo&id=35 as "original" or also a lot of the people who were on RLTW, but I'll admit my dod memory is not that great.moosh wrote:Actually 3h and db both had 2/3 of an "original" roster.mare wrote:Yes because this is so much different from the original lineups we see on hb, devil, 3h, deadbolt, 38th...

I was actually making the point that it doesn't even matter but I think that got misinterpreted and I didn't mean to offend. People have been remaking teams for a long time. Sometimes with 1 original member. I've personally been on 3 or 4 different versions of teams with the same name. Dod in 2013 is serious business.
I think the issue people are having is that it's not a former dicE lineup, or a few dicE members with some new faces, it's just one former member deciding to just use the name. I wasn't an original STR member, but I was on it for a long time and led it for while, and if a few of those players came back I would totally want to make a team and call it STR. But when I make a random team of people I just know around the community, I make up a new name for that team, because it wouldn't remotely be STR. Just like this isn't what people would consider dicE, it's just dyelife and 5 guys who are suddenly associated with the name. Not a big deal to me, I like seeing all the old names on the team list, but I can understand people who were friends with a team of that high a profile being disappointed.mare wrote:Really? So this is really a "fuck you" post towards Kevin for taking the x[m] name and running with it, right? Yeah, I understand that. I was just pointing out that people have been doing this forever, it's nothing really new and I personally don't think it matters. Meh, I guess maybe it's different with a team that was more successful, ala dice. Changed my mind, retire the name and put it in the official dod hall of fame.motive wrote:mare wrote:moosh wrote:

In the dinosaur days they looked something like this
I doubt that more than 3% of the present dod community even know who hb-Skwirut is, and he was the guy that started hb back in 2001.
so yeah like other folks are saying - this whole same-tag-different-roster is a pretty old concept.
Skwirut has come back a couple times, I think a lot of people know him. And I'm not saying roster changes are unusual, I'm saying it's unusual to have a team reformed with only one former member. If endofone and gh0d came back and we decided to remake h8 and pick up a few players, people would say "oh, h8's back". If I decided to make a team of 5 random people never associated with the name and then call it h8, people would probably say "what the fuck is this guy doing?"Traize wrote:While a team like hb had a fairly consistent roster the last couple of years, the earlier days it looked a bit like this:joeledmunds wrote: I think the issue people are having is that it's not a former dicE lineup, or a few dicE members with some new faces, it's just one former member deciding to just use the name. yeah i know. its kinda stupid to remake a team and them all being random people who never been on it beforejoeledmunds wrote:Yeah, you were on h8 with me, so if you, me and Ed reformed h8, it would make more sense than you or I picking up 5 random players and saying "h8's back!"
