if its only happening when you are recording its something to do with the writing speed of your hard drive, it happens a lot with Seagate HDs. There was some program to help fix it....

CleanDoD and recording demos are both giving a player with a one year cheating suspension problems. I'm very surprised.

I wondered if it was the harddrive when you mentioned your computer lagged with cleandod. That takes a screenshot and writes to your disk, so the same issue could happen with recording a demo. Should also check how much free ram and space are available on that drive.

My game usually lags if my harddrive is full and i try to record a demo, make sure you have some free space on there.

Just run DoD and vent when recording. The program you run to let you see through walls really hinders the demo recording process.
