mogers of dgf will be joining me as this week’s guest predictor I believe I have someone lined up for next week, but will be looking for volunteers from teams playing in playoff matches to chat with, so be ready.
Upper:
Match of the Week: slow loris vs. Donkey PunchN Krew
Slow Loris joined the season a little bit late but have already managed to surpass both WR and dgf on the rankings. They have been able to hand out losses to Team Risk and Winnfield & Co. ( Not easy feats ) This dpk team has been in a bit of a firestorm lately after The Winnfield Bazooka scandal and I'm wondering what kind of team shows up for this match. If dpk takes this seriously (yeah right) then they have a pretty good chance to win.
moger’s pick: slow loris by 1 cap
I would say this is the favorite for MOTW because the other candidates involve teams that may or may not be dead, although dpK is coming off some random drama against Winnfield so they better behave themselves! Slow loris just keeps on rolling, now 3-1 after a win against a solid risk team. It appears my belief in rdk was well placed, although an unnamed source informed me that he admitted to cheating against my team last season. If true, this makes me a sad panda. Anyway, dpK hasn’t played a meaningful match since a loss to THUNDER on merderet, but apparently were beating Winnfield last week after the first half before deciding that Bazookas and TKs were the way to go. And really, who doesn’t like shooting each other in spawn more than winning a match against the 2011 version of teamscrabble? I think this will be a close match and give slow loris the slight edge, as I believe k4b00m will go for too many bazooka movie shots.
Airnick’s pick: slow loris by 50
Players to watch
Slow loris: shoguN, rdk
dpK: k4b00m, Beast
dirty ghetto f**ks vs. GameSpy Rangers
As he likes to put it, Till will "outsmart" everyone from dgf by hiding behind corners, camping the same spot for minutes, and proning. The rest of his team will also follow suit. This is the most campy, proney, terrible team I have ever had the displeasure of playing against. Fuck you all.
moger’s pick: GSR by 8 caps
dgf has been on a bit of a rollercoaster this season, and are coming off two big losses to THUNDER and team 99 in consecutive weeks. The roster seems have to have some talented players, but inconsistent would be the best word to describe them this season. GSR still hasn’t been able to gain any momentum this season, but they definitely have the ability to keep it close and pull off an upset if dgf takes them lightly. However, I expect dgf to use this as a match to gain some steam as the regular season comes to a close.
Airnick’s pick: dgf by 80
Players to watch
dgf: mogers, bull
GSR: MAJL, Mino
Lawnchair Mafia vs. team risK
My vote for MOTW…I'd like to see my old team LcM take this one and continue their glorious comeback... but I don't think it's going to happen this Sunday. Nick Patten is a god among men, and jFent will roll through underpass. LcM did add Tony Compton and Duality to an already good looking set of Rifles in Bewton, Steve and ao. But unfortunately you can't play 4 rifles. I think Risk teamwork and experience together end up pulling this one out for them. I would totally go gay for Steve Hisey for the record.
moger’s pick: risK by 20
So I guess LcM isn’t dead? To be honest, I’m not sure who the starting 6 are, but I’m guessing it involves hisey, betwon, gaul, and seanality. For all I know I could be completely off base, but that’s what I’ll base this off of. risK has dropped two in a row after a strong start, so it’s time for patten and cableguy to get their backpacks ready this Sunday because this won’t be a pushover. I’m not sure if it will be enough though, as LcM still seems to be solid.
Airnick’s pick: LcM by 40
Players to watch
LcM: hisey, gaul
risK: patten, cableguy
Wraith Rangers vs. THUNDER
Honestly? This match is a waste of time and not worth a prediction. Jared Mundy single handedly is going to cap every flag and frag every bod. He's so hawt.
moger’s pick: THUNDER by 7 caps
Well this certainly won’t be the MOTW, unless members of THUNDER decide to play blindfolded with both hands tied behind their backs. Seeing as Corey already plays this game without always being able to get solid footing in his computer chair, I don’t think that would be very fair. Without girlfriend drama humor to throw out, I had to go old school…now back to the DoD! Blackhawk’s work in the recruiting forum on 1911 has finally paid off, as he now has one guy in hXc who can go positive, yet I have a sneaking suspicion that this won’t be enough against THUNDER.
Airnick’s pick: THUNDER by 200+
Players to watch
WR: hXc, MakheN
THUNDER: JgN, ryanemo
Winnfield & Sons vs. team99
Kevin is so strong and handsome he will use his charm to get Alex Kirk to let down those impenetrable walls of defense around his heart... then exploit it to his advantage. Not sure if Winnfield is going to continue playing or not.. but if they do they have a very tough matchup this week. Stealth is nasty, along with Joeledmunds and Bobson. Alex Kirk needs to be ready to start strong and carry his team through the factory. If he can get his teammates to wake up and follow him to victory they could have a chance.
moger’s pick: 99 by 1
W&S was on the brink of calling it a season, but it seems that they will stick together to finish this one and then just stick to DCN. There goes the easy win for 99! Winnfield still appears to be the second best team in Upper, yet should be challenged by a solid 99 team that seems to have gotten their act together at the right time in the season. I think Winnfield will have the edge at factory, so it will be on 99’s heavies to do some work underpass side to keep this one close. Ultimately, I think that Winnfield will get the job done.
Airnick’s pick: W&S by 100
Players to watch
W&S: Kirk, Miller (if he plays)
99: acetamino, joeledmunds (represent club prax!)
Lower:
Match of the Week: 1080p vs. Most Valuable Playerz
1080p has quickly leaped towards the top of Upper, and are getting better every week as they play together more. MVPz keeps on trucking despite being filled with players who are balding and facing midlife crises. Factory should be a good fight, but I’m not sure if MVPz can hold off 1080p’s heavies, led by Jaggon’s favorite player, ceebz. I think that 1080p will press this advantage to create havoc for MVPz around their first flag.
Airnick’s pick: 1080p by 100
Players to watch
1080p: ceebz, bromley
MVPz: Schmiggs, motive
Heavy Hitters vs. Kevlar Soul
Good team vs. pub team, we know how this goes.
Airnick’s pick: HH by 200+
Players to watch
HH: Khoi, apple
Merrill’s Marauders vs. By InviTe OnLy
Pub team vs. pub team, BiO is quite a bit better it seems.
Airnick’s pick: BiO by 200+
505th Parachute Infantry vs. Bad Ass Wankers
Pub team vs. pub team, 505th is quite a bit better it seems.
Airnick’s pick: 505th by 150+
Believe the Hype vs. TeamLess
Rematch from earlier in the season when BtH was able to beat TeamLess because of 6v5 from what I recall being told. BtH has a solid Lower roster, although if you ask Odin they could probably beat any team in the history of DoD, probably because he is on it. TeamLess is a good team and shouldn’t have any problems here.
Airnick’s pick: TeamLess by 150+
Players to watch
BtH: GRIMM, Odin
TeamLess: lerfooled, c-tOn
Fatal Mistake vs. VMF-214 Blacksheep
Decent team that needs people to stop sucking and having their sniper carry them every match because there is only so much he can do vs. a pub team. Sorry, if you didn’t realize I’m talking about myself then just know that I’m bitter about losing twice in a row in lower. On the bright side, I get to MG Axis side!
Airnick’s pick: GLHF
Players to watch
fM: skull, Expunge
