TPG's sizzling night of dod returns on SUNDAY April 20th. TPG is bringing back the House Cup for a full evening of great matches, the chance to play with new people, and for a lucky 6, the crown of the House Cup. Check out the details below but make sure to sign up soon to secure your spot.

It will be a one night tournament with a total of 8 teams. Please be prepared to play as few as 1 match and as many as 3 matches. There is no rescheduling! First round is at 9 pm est, Semis at 10, and Finals at 11. Each team will consist of 6 (SIX) members.

The first 48 players that sign up will be eligible for a team. If we reach 48 players, any additional players will be put on a ringers roster, and those will be the official ringers for the tournament. You cannot use a ringer if a team member is available, this is for fun, winning isn't everything. The minimum number needed is 48 players, if we don't reach it, the tournament will scrapped.

To sign up simply go to http://www.tpgleague.org/TPGCup/ and join the "Cup Entry" team. The password is "join" Please use your real handle when joining, add the last division played and add your first and second weapon class choice. (Example: Milo - Invite - Heavy). SIGN-UPS ARE NOW OPEN! Players that do not sign up with the required/propper information will just be REMOVED from the Entry Team.

We will also need 8 players who are willing to be captains. Captains should be near the same skill level and must be able to communicate effectively in English. Teams will be chosen in a draft format as long as there are 8 people in the same skill range who want to be captains. If not, the Admins and AC Team will just try and make the teams even. To be a captain steam message me (http://steamcommunity.com/id/wzrdd/) and I'll add you to the list. If you are chosen to be a captain, we will pick teams April 18 at night, around 10 EST (if that doesn't work, we will try another night to pick teams).

This Tournament is open to all players except those currently suspended for cheating.

*TPG Rules apply. Demos and SS are necessary. Disputes will not be handled until after the tournament is over.

**Ringers roster password is "ringer". * The Ringer must be approved by the opposing team! This is to help stop teams from replacing their last picks with a top player. However, teams/captains cannot reject ringers who are from a lower division than the player they are replacing without TPG Approval (Example: taylor is currently registered on a lower team, and TPG will block him from ringing for a team that didn't have an open player show. If, for example, k4b00m doesn't show up, a team cannot say no to any of the main/open level players from ringing without TPG Approval).

DO NOT SIGN UP IF YOU CAN'T/MIGHT NOT BE ABLE TO PLAY, YOU RUIN IT FOR EVERYONE ELSE. If you sign up and do not show, you will be ineligible to play in the next Cup. If you're not 100% sure if you will make it but would like to participate if you are available, you should join the ringers roster.

I was talking to Milo about the draft order and wanted to post it on here so he can more clearly understand.

If you have 8 captains and the skill disparity is rather telling then you have to make it even. IMO what you can do is have the players ranked based on skill, 1 being the lowest and 8 being the highest skilled player. From there you draft in order 1-8 for the first round, the second round would then again be 1-8 so that the lowest skilled players have their rosters bolstered with earlier draft picks. From there the draft would continue in a snake motion. Please see below.

Round 1:
1 through 8

Round 2:
1 through 8

Round 3:
8 through 1

Round 4:
1 through 8

Round 5:
8 through 1

So while the first few teams would have the best picks in the draft at first in order to solidify their roster a bit, they would also get the last picks in the draft which would even out their overall skill levels with the higher skilled captains. This would also allow the higher skilled captains to have the better picks at the end of the draft so that they have more mid ranged players.

Well, it wasn't like I just didn't showed up. I did and I informed some of my draft team members that I had connectivity issues on a recurring basis prior the match. If my participation is going to be denied due to a technical event beyond my powers I can understand, however, it wasn't like I just skipped the tourny intentionally.

Cass had constant communication with me minutes before the match. He was having internet issues and was there to play but couldn't because of circumstances he could not help.
Warchyld had something come up last minute and couldn't attend but informed me in plenty of time

Thanks milo and tinbad for removing my (undue) suspension (since as showed up in last draft but couldn't play due to shitty internet). On this one, my team had every player I picked up. However, I don't think the method used for this draft made the teams even. Not even close actually. There were a clear skill gap between the 2-3 teams not to mention players that ALWAYS manage to sneak in in the draft even though they are not registered in the ringers team.

My suggestion for the next draft is leveling the captains and making the order start from the less skilled to high skilled. This random captain order plus 1-8 then 8-1 is so bad that it's not even worth commenting.

FINALLY BROKE THE CURSE

Good games to all, although I do agree with you Cass there are better ways to draft then a standard snake format as I stated before, but either way thanks to milo for holding this one together and organizing it.

The last game was close. We probably could have made it closer but the entire match I only heard rws bitching the entire time until the point he rage quit with like 5 or 6 minutes to go. Probably had the least fun playing this game with him then i have in a very long time as he is the most complaining person in a match i have played with to date.

What a magical evening that was, it was like the stars aligned.

You could feel the camaraderie as soon as we got in vent together but little did we know that the chemistry in that side would be so perfect. I can only equate it to watching Suarez, Sterling and Sturridge link up this season. It was a tour de force of skill, teamwork and Spanish comms...we were relentless.

Even the mighty Jizz, the scourge of the tournament, the defiler of dod who wrecked everyone in his wake was no match for this juggernaut of a side.

I think it is fair to say that was possibly the greatest side ever assembled and there is really no point in continuing.

Credit to the boys last night. We were absolutely brilliant. After the semis I told them, "This does not f****** slip now. Listen. Listen. This is gone. We go to the finals. Exactly the same. We go again. Come on!"

And so we did, and we were crowned TPG Easter Cup Champions.

I already got my Easter cup trophy in the mail. So good.

Ugh, gross. So much love and no arguing.
