So i came back from vacation and my computer wouldn't turn on. I didn't have access to a tester for my power supply so I bought a new one, connected it to the motherboard and got no response -- before I spend more money on that in combination with a new power supply (pretty sure its also toast) and a new case because there are several broken ports and I don't need six bays - I am wondering whether or not anyone has an idea on whether a laptop under 1000 dollars could run dota 2. Thanks for any help

yes. my laptop is 4 years old and runs dota 2 at med settings. re: google

Honestly, you're better off just getting a new motherboard. While many laptops will run Dota 2, you are limiting yourself to a few years of usefulness by getting one.

Add a SSD in case you don't have one already. Definately worth buying one. [ Not sure what hardware you have right now, but if it's a few years(4+), upgrading can be a good idea right now. CPU+Motherboard first of all. GPU if you feel like playing games on better settings. ]

I can't stress how awesome Microcenter's bundles are. If you live close to a Microcenter, go there for your essentials and even everything else. Prices are rather competitive and many times, better than online.

Just built myself a new HTPC out of the A10-7850K bundle. What a steal.

im about 20 minutes from a microcenter

i went there for the power supply

id like to spend under 500 and so far the supply and new case have cost me 130 after rebates

ill keep my hard drive and im assuming the memory is still good

what supply and case did you buy? Just curious
