Updates with ESL-DoD
Posted: Mon Jul 18, 2011 7:33 pm

It has officially been announced to ESL-DoD staff that the National ESL website will have the DoD division up and running by this Thursday (7-21-2011). At that time, players will be able to register specifically for the DoD division and teams will be open for creation.
We will make another announcement once this has occurred, but feel free to keep a lookout on the ESL website (
http://www.nationalesl.com/us/) for this update.
It has been decided that ESL-DoD will take place on Sunday nights. Other leagues will be moved accordingly to this schedule. More information and details will be announced in the coming days.

Good news!
However I think that moving TPG to another day rather than Sunday will be a bad move in a middle term because if Sunday is known to be a "dod's day" its because TPG has been played on it since its early days back 7 years ago.
Leagues have been created and died and yet TPG remained all these years. People are used to play it and I would stick with creating and developing an new league rather than just put ESL in the spotlight and leave TPG without his traditional day.
I think we all want a successful ESL season but we should also care about the community maintenence too. Well, that's my opinion.

Why not just follow the rotation as dcn did to tpg. And have both league matches on sundays. Id rather scrim once and have 2 matches vs. 2 scrims and 1 match...assuming we can get a scrim?

Having the same map for both leagues sounds fun until you have to scrim and play donner for an entire week. Just the idea is mind-numbing.

Everyone have played the maps so many times, and most of us with the same groups of players, that scrimming a particular map isn't even all that important. By now you should know what your role is on the map and how you and your team best play it. The only thing that may be needed each week would be a few scrims here and there, no matter the map, just to keep your timing and aim up.

Great news to read... So there's going to be 3 DoD Leagues running? like ESL , TPG & DCN? or DCN is going to die?

I don't, but it is never scrimmed/12manned any week other than the few days preceeding when it will be played. Thus two matches of the same maps three days apart leads to a full week of donner being played.

Where the hell do you register your team in the DOD section? The "How do I Join a league" Is not helpful what so ever.

Blows dicks if you are playing against an aimbot & walling South American. Played that mach 5 v 6, then 4 v 6 when CoryPrice rage quit in the middle of the 2nd half and we were only down by 5.
Fuck that kid pedorojo.

It was the season right before Summer CPL 05. CAL and Munoz thought DoD would do better. I liked the extra matches, many did not.
