1911 Beta

TPG will hold a fast paced and fun intended TPG 1v1 tournament and we are expecting up to 64 players playing in it. The rules are quite simple: single elimination format with 7 minute 2 halves match and whoever gets more kills wins and proceed to next stage. The map to be played is a custom dod_orange that got modified to not have flags on it and all classes but bazooka are allowed. More info can be found at http://www.tpgleague.org/dod1/

We expect to start this no later than Sep 12th so all you need to do is create your one-man-army team in TPG 1v1 division and wait to be scheduled against your first opponent! And remember: first come first serve!

Yeah basically we're hoping we can get up to 64 players involved, since that's basically how the schedule is laid out. I think that's a realistic expectation for the community, and it should create a broad skill range. If we don't get that many registrants, though, then we will bump the bracket down to the next appropriate number (32, 16, etc), and any people who joined in late that wouldn't create cause for a bracket of higher numbers will be left out. For example, if only 45 players sign up, then we are running a bracket of 32 and the last 13 will be left out. Hope that makes sense.

Everyone will basically be creating a one-man "team" for this tournament, so it would be nice if you guys made your team name/tag be your regular alias so we know who's really playing. When the bracket is made I will be arranging it by your team tag.

So far so good guys: more than 1/3 of the spots have been filled in just one day. Keep it up and don't wait to register in the last minute!

I'd further add that when you create a team to play you obviously need to flag the "join the roster" box so that after team activation you will be already in your team. And the team name NEEDS to be your in-game alias so please avoid creating fancy team names or tags because we are changing it to your nickname!

That's not what I meant. The bracket will be created using the team tag just for easy identification.. and your team tag is what shows up in the standings. I didn't want to see a matchup like "defiance vs OMFGWTFBBQALIAS" because someone wanted to be cute. It just makes it better if we know who's who. They wont necessarily be arranged alphabetically.

The matches have been scheduled and I'll post it up in bracket form soon. We had about 40 people sign up, and I wanted to get the schedules out tonight, so unfortunately the last 8 or so people were left out.

For all players who don't have any experience being a team leader, please be sure to check your emails from now on to know when you've been scheduled. As for disputes, I'm going to be really picky about honoring them. They need to be submitted immediately after your match or they wont be bothered with. This is a fast paced tournament so things need to be handled quickly on your end as well as mine.

We didn't get the 64 players signed up that we hoped for, but that's fine. This is just a fun tournament to get a gauge on what people are interested in. If this goes well and there are positive reviews then we can keep having some more of these little fun things on the side.

He accused everyone better than he was of cheating, so that's basically his words. I've been in pubs with him here recently and he's still up to the same old...guy just can't get a grip...
