I'm also begging everyone to please watch UFC Live 6 Saturday night FREE on versus. The bantamweight title is on the line and these lighter weight classes do not get the recognition or credit that they deserve. 145 and 135's put on some of the most exciting fights you will ever see, and this is the first time a title fight has been on free TV in a long time and the last time wasnt even live it was tape delayed.
Johnson vs. Cruz bantamweight title
I fully expect Cruz to continue "cruising" through the 135 division. He is bigger than most of the guys there, and usually faster. However, in this case Mighty Mouse Johnson can match his speed and he will need to couple that with his wrestling ability to score some take downs and hold him down to wear out Cruz. Cruz's cardio is unbelievable and is one of the main reasons he has gotten this far. Cruz is about to constantly move and he goes in and out with a punch and it definitely frustrates his opponents. Mighty Mouse is a small 135er and I fully expect him to be in contention for the 125 flyweight title when the UFC brings in that division later this year, but I just don't think he will be able to take Cruz down.
Barry vs Struve
This is the closest thing the UFC is going to get to one of those PRIDE freakshow fights. Barry is the shortest heavyweight and Struve is the tallest, with a 1 foot difference in height between the two. It will definitely be interesting to see, because Barry as absolute KO power AND throws vicious kicks, but if a kick gets caught, he will go down, and Struve will most likely control him there. I see just that happening.
Anthony Johnson vs.Charlie Brenneman
I am only interested in this fight because Brenneman is from PA and is a great underdog story. I attended UFC Live 4 in Pittsburgh, which had a bunch of fight changes and some how Brenneman went from fighting on the undercard to fighting Rick Story on the main card. Before the fight, Story looked like he was on the rise in the WW division and was getting close to a title shot. Then Charlie Brenneman showed up, and took him down all 3 rounds and put on a wrestling clinic Anthony Johnson on the other hand, is a HUGE WW. Seriously, i can't believe this guy makes weight and it gives him such an advantage. He has great power, and Charlie needs to take him down at all costs. Sadly, i think this might be a KO.
And don't get me started on the UFC 136 fight card. CARD.OF.THE.YEAR.
