Okay, in this sport of MMA we have shitty judges, shitty refs, and shitty rules. (thanks john mccain /sarcasm) Anyway, when you have shitty rules YOU HAVE TO ENFORCE THEM.
Judging Criteria: OCTAGON CONTROL, Striking, Aggressiveness, Grappling.
So you have 4 criteria you are supposed to judge on. There was 0 grappling for the first 4 rounds. So we are down to 3 criteria for this fight. Are you telling me Condit won anything other than striking. And when you are striking while moving backwards, thats not very effective. Diaz was pushing the pace, he controlled the octagon, and in rounds 1-2 he had the striking. I will give rounds 3,4 to condit, but thats it. There is no way in the world you can convince me condit won rounds 1 and 2, and there are plenty of pro fighters who agree with me. The comments on twitter from former champs, and respected fighters like Dan Henderson gives major credence to the above argument.
As a result of these shitty rules, Diaz won rounds 1,2, and 5.
