Does he take this or will the blanket prevail?

After watching last night's fight, i don't even care. A) Diaz won. B) Condit vs GSP will be two fighters both desperately scared of actually trying to finish a fight that maybe, just maybe, a real fight might break out. Either way, have to pick GSP until someone proves me otherwise.

Condit clearly won the fight. Diaz is a joke of a fighter. Loses fight, goes into retirement haha. GSP still dominates.

You cant be mad at condit for not giving into Diaz style. he did what he had to do to get the win. Those guys are so good at that level, everything matters. Diaz style is to preasure fighters into making mistakes, and without that hes just a decent wrestler and a good jits guy. Condit is a pick and move fighter who looks for big shots, and tonight he showed that Diaz isnt nearly as great, as people are making him out to be. Yes hes a great fighter, but if any of you believe gsp wouldnt wrestle him to the ground and punch him in the face for 5 rounds your just retarded.

he's the interim champ homie. I do find it funny how the super rabid diaz fanboys always tout his boxing and how no one can stand with him, he trains with pro boxers could box easily in amateur fights etc etc. Yet somehow he cant stop a kick boxer using a stick and move technique :/ imo he got flustered when condit didnt buy into the shit talking and back himself against the cage so he could block diaz's punches with his face. simply plodding forward wont win you a fight.

Okay, in this sport of MMA we have shitty judges, shitty refs, and shitty rules. (thanks john mccain /sarcasm) Anyway, when you have shitty rules YOU HAVE TO ENFORCE THEM.

Judging Criteria: OCTAGON CONTROL, Striking, Aggressiveness, Grappling.

So you have 4 criteria you are supposed to judge on. There was 0 grappling for the first 4 rounds. So we are down to 3 criteria for this fight. Are you telling me Condit won anything other than striking. And when you are striking while moving backwards, thats not very effective. Diaz was pushing the pace, he controlled the octagon, and in rounds 1-2 he had the striking. I will give rounds 3,4 to condit, but thats it. There is no way in the world you can convince me condit won rounds 1 and 2, and there are plenty of pro fighters who agree with me. The comments on twitter from former champs, and respected fighters like Dan Henderson gives major credence to the above argument.

As a result of these shitty rules, Diaz won rounds 1,2, and 5.

Greg Jackson just said on the MMA Hour (shout to ariel helwani, the best reporter in MMA) that he WONT coach/corner/help Condit for his fight with GSP.

Condit has 0 chance, now.

I guess I am just disappointed by Condit. I am not really a huge diaz fan, but did want him to win for the gsp fight. But, Condit has made his name for himself by being an explosive fighter, who goes for the KO or the sub, and tries to end people.
He did the complete opposite of everything he's ever done before. You dance with the person you brought to the dance.

Doesn't matter who faces GSP.

Diaz and Condit are both fucking pussies.

lmao. condit will stand with gsp because gsp has less than power than a passing breeze and his jab will be met with a flying knee to the face. i love how condit has 1 fight that he doesn't stand and trade and everyone thinks he sucks. it's one fighter's strength versus another figher's weakness. diaz got exposed and perhaps isn't as highly regarded as the mma community thought.

judges score fights differently due to their perspective as well. they recently allowed monitors to be used but that still limits and takes away from actually judging the fight as it's meant to be, by 3 judges with varied views. if a fighter, condit, decides to stick and move than technically, he is deciding where the fight takes place (octagon control).

jackson is known for lay and pray and getting the win. i grew up watching the ufc and i miss when the fights were decided by having a clear winner. no time limit, no rounds. condit will engage with gsp and his ground game is good enough to get back up from gsp's blanket of doom!

i think after the gsp vs condit fight, ellenberger will ktfo out either one of these guys. (jake was robbed against condit in that fight)

Everyone thought that Koscheck would wreck GSP standing up and beat him at his own game. It will be the same result! GSP is a master tactician!

i never thought for a minute that kos would be able to beat gsp on the feet or on the ground. wrestlers just don't develop their hands like other fighters do. they may have ko power but the technique is never there. like i said, i think condit vs gsp will be a good fight with either a decision for gsp or a tko for condit. ellenberger is going to run through sanchez like he did with sheilds. ellenberger vs diaz might be a sweet match up if diaz doesn't "retire".

I guess my argument holds a little bit of credence now... Twitter and the UG saying that they are going to work on a deal tomorrow for Diaz vs Condit II to rematch because of the outcry over the decision. Please put this on the UFC on FOX card in Jersey in May...

ar Gracie @CesarGracieBJJ
@danawhite Nick would rematch in a heartbeat. No extra money needed. He is a true fighter and fights for his team and you fans.

MMAweekly is awful, don't read it. That tweet is from yesterday.

HOWEVER,

Ariel Helwani @arielhelwani
E-mail from Keith Kizer of NSAC: "Thank you for the many email and phone calls. I am still waiting for all the steroid and drug test..."(cont'd): ... "results to come back. We did have at least one positive test. I will send out an email later today on that matter."

funny shit! hahaha. Thought Condit won the fight as did many others. Defiance did put the points of judging to me and I could agree Diaz won in that fashion. To bad computers don't judge fights haha
