If you have a Microcenter near you, you can get a 2500K + mobo combo dirt cheap.
Personally, if you are on a budget you should definitely go the AMD route.

You can get the FX8120 + Asus Sabertooth 990FX for $269. You can't beat that pricing.
Get a Western Digital or Samsung F3 for your data drive.
I would get the 8GB Corsair Vengeance 1600mhz kit over the GSkill (which you only chose the 1333mhz version of).
With all that processing power, you might as well get a real graphics card as the 550Ti is a pile of crap for the 2500K or FX8120. The 560Ti 448core is quite the performer and can overclock to 1000mhz on the core easily putting it up there with the 580 in terms of performance. If you go the AMD route, get the 6950 or 6870 if you need to keep it cheap. You could always add another in the future for crossfire and have a hell of a system.
I don't see a power supply, case, heatsink/fan or any optical drives either (unless you are re-using some old stuff).
Honestly though, if you are trying to do a budget build, you could keep it under 650-700 with the right selection of parts if you aren't doing any crazy gaming like BF3 or Skyrim cranked all the way to max.
