BUY A core i5 2500K
THE END
my amd phenom II runs anything that CPUs sold by intel when i bought it can run. handles any game i wanna play, and doesnt have any issue with anything i do. was also 100 dollars cheaper than the comparable Intel cpu at the time.
If you arent doing a ton of media crunching or shit like that, then an AMD will get you everything you want, with less cost. Ive only ever had AMDs in my systems, and ive had 0 issue ever running games intel CPUs can. you got a p4 2.4ghz, ive got an xp 1800+. fucking ran circles around that p4. oh you upgraded to a 3.4ghz? np, ive got a 64bit 3200+ that still shits on your comp and it costs me a fuck ton less. Radeon GPUs play any game out at high resolutions and high settings, and do it generally cheaper. the drivers are not nearly as bad as they used to be either. my 4890 runs cs go on low settings 1024x768(crt and i think its easier to distinguish shit at lower settings) at 200-300fps. would have it with a second, but the fuckers stopped carrying it a month after i bought it. didnt read the latest news on time frames for manufacture before i bought and pouted like a bitch about it.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6819103727 at $109 - that will run any game out, as well as any game comming out in the next 2-3 years.
also, why the fuck do you need 12-16gigs of ram to play 1.3 and csgo? i have 4 gigs and ive yet to run into a bottle neck via ram with 2 streams going, csgo/LoL alt tabbed, vent/skype open and browsing reddit. i have serious doubts you need 12 - 16gigs of ram.
seriously, if you wanna $600 system, go AMD. once you have that to last you the next few years, you can work towards getting the awesome shit when everything goes better and you have 900-1200 to spend.
http://www.anandtech.com/show/4083/the- ... -tested/20 (yes an older review) an average of 20fps more when shits maxed out. big fucking deal for 100+ dollars more. i would rather spend the saved money on another TB of hd space.
