I've never overclocked anything, but the new cpus are about $15 cheaper than the older ones and have free shipping. Is the difference between an i7 and i5 worth $100? A motherboard that says z97 would mean it's one of the newer ones you're talking about and will work with these new cpus right?

From what I understand, at least for win7, unchecking enhanced precision gets rid of accel, but it was the hl.exe that would force accel in game which is why you needed the launch options.
