Eagle League has room for 1 more team in each division

Hey fellas,

I posted this in gotfrag a few days ago, but it got whacked right away. I think maybe the moderator is a bit zealous about having something to do.

Eagle League had a team drop from Phoenix Division, which opens the door for 1 team to jump in. We'll cut the red tape and work you right into the rotation. Season starts in 1 week. Heck, if 3 teams (or any odd number) sign up in the next few days we'll ensure them a place.

As a reminder, Phoenix division rules include weapons pickup, legal spawn camping (including shooting and nading into spawn), flexible match scheduling, and 1 automatic league admin slot per team. 3 Rifles per team (2 Kar + 1 stoss) and 2 Heavies per team. Teams such as THUNDER, dpk and winnfield and Sons are in this division, so you'll have a competition.

I won't check these forums too often, so post apps on the Eagle site. We have room in our other division for 1 team also, but I'd guess this crowd isn't interested in that.

In all seriousness, there are plenty of good reasons to join Eagle League.

1) You'll be playing matches within a week

2) You can schedule your own match time, so it won't interfere with TPG (or life situations)

3) You get a voice. 1 admin chosen by you from among your own roster. How many leagues have EVER done that before?

4) Flexible rules. Spawn camping, shooting into and nading spawn ... are LEGAL. Pickup weapons ... by all means. 3 rifles and 1 Sniper, and 2 Heavies ... sound familiar?

5) If you don't like the maps from season 1, and its a decent map rotation, you get to vote at the end of the season on the maps for season 2.

6) We have Eagle Trios planned starting as soon as Season 1 closes, plus Eagle Duels. Eagles Duels is a 4 minute match (2 minutes per side) where two guys grab the same weapon and see which is the better man, mano-a-mano. The duellists get to challenge their opponent, select the weapon of choice, and pick a map. Predictions will be made, and bragging rights held forever after.

This decision is a no brainer. So stop thinking and sign up.

I know FLAWLESS has a ... reputation. But we have plenty of safety measures in place. In the first place their roster will be checked by the admins (which means by each team that wants to have a say). Secondly, we use X-ray anticheat and can request players to use the system to maintain their good standing.

Pappy, I don't think you've ever had the pleasure of playing against them. I haven't played against dustin young for like 2 years without him cheating, he literally cheats every time he plays the game. Other people like biggie I just find to be faggots because of his fetish for crashing vents/servers while there's a match going on

First of all I want to take a step back and apologize Nomis. I didn't mean to put you entirely on the spot there. I came across harsher than I meant to be. I've been outgunned by hack players before, we all have, so I understand your view and it is a valid point.

Dustin already applied to join Eagle under the DPK roster, and was turned down. We wouldn't turn him down for DPK, which is a team I respect, and not do the same for other teams he wants to be on. No offense to him personally, but dustin will not be playing in Eagle unless he gets a new steam account and name (which we all know happens often enough).

I doubt biggie will be allowed to play either, but that is for the admins to decide.

If any of you are on teams in Eagle and don't want FLAWLESS to join, tell your eagle admin to vote no. If Eagle is cutting edge in one respect, it is that we empower the teams in our league and give them a legit voice in shaping the league. If a majority of teams vote no, FLAWLESS will not be admitted to the league.

The Eagle Admins (The Eagle teams) have voted and FLAWLESS will not be joining the league. This is the advantage our league offers to our entire community. Every team has a legit say in shaping the league, and if the players speak as one, their voice will be heard.

Now that you Nancy boys have gotten what you want I expect to see more apps coming in.

It is a colossal hypocrisy that a bunch of so-called, die-hard DoD gamers whine and gripe about an idealized past that never truly existed, while meekly lamenting a sterile DoD future they are so certain they'll never see. The only real thing separating the "good old days" from lackluster today is the ambition and drive of individuals. Whoever rebuilt these forums has that ambition, and probably realizes the truth ... it doesn't matter how large the community is if you truly enjoy the game and put your heart into it. Most of the rest of you are bums.

You've actually got it all backwards. I re-launched these forums for the OPPOSITE reason: nostalgia.

This rant about drive, determination, and putting your heart into things has its place, but that place is not an old, worn-out, online video game.

In this context, it really just kind of comes off as slightly creepy...

If DoD and Eagle League are really things that you consider yourself so passionate about, then "to each their own" I suppose. But, I can't help but wonder if such an attitude is quite unhealthy in the grand scheme of things.

Both of you 2 have valid points. I do feel that the DoD community wont put any effort into change or growing. If anyone put a little effort in they get trolled for it, but that's how its always been. Bunch of kids, with nothing better to do but talk shit on the internet. After a while you just say fuck it and start trolling as well because there is nothing better to do. Like everyone says, DoD is DEAD, and the days of CAL are gone, yet we still insist on playing this terrible game and whining about it when we can. There is no hope for this community and there never will be. It's a very nice gesture for Sears to put 1911 back up, but not sure if it will save this community (no offense).
